Moshammer Downforce RS Aero Kit treats the 997 Turbo as what it is, a fast car of the analogue era that rewards better cooling and better airflow more than it needs styling help. The front spoiler is the key piece, with a more aggressive shape and larger air intakes that improve brake cooling while sharpening high speed stability, and it sets up everything behind it. Cooling and Airflow

Cooling is where this kit begins. The front spoiler’s larger air intakes route more air to the brakes, which is the difference between a confident third lap and a cautious one, while the ram air scoops feed the intercooler to prevent the heat soak that flattens a hard driven 997 Turbo. Both work as aerodynamic devices as well, so the improvements in temperature come alongside cleaner airflow rather than at its expense.

Aerodynamic Balance

The side skirts improve overall aerodynamics along the body while giving the car a lower and sportier line, and the rear wing spoiler raises downforce over the rear axle where a 911 wants it most. Taken together the front and rear elements add stability at the speeds the Turbo reaches easily, particularly through fast corners, and the car feels more settled without any change to the way it is driven.

Construction and Finish

Moshammer produces the panels in Berlin and delivers them unpainted, with the mounting material supplied, so the colour decision belongs to you and your painter. Fitting uses the original screwing points with a special glue where called for, leaving the shell unmodified, and the kit is covered by a TUV parts certificate (§19.3). Because production runs are small, each set is built when it is ordered rather than pulled from stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit include a rear diffuser? No. This configuration pairs the front spoiler and side skirts with a rear wing spoiler and two ram air scoops. Moshammer offers a separate 997 Turbo kit that substitutes a rear diffuser for the scoops.
Why does the front spoiler have larger intakes? The larger openings serve two purposes: they improve brake cooling and they improve the aerodynamics of the front end, which helps stability at high speed. On a car used at track days the brake cooling alone justifies the part.
Will it fit both generations of 997 Turbo? Moshammer specifies the kit for 997 Turbo models covering both the 997.1 and 997.2 cars, using the standard bumpers as the starting point.
How are the ram air scoops mounted? They fit at the intercooler air inlets using the original screwing points and the supplied mounting material, with a special glue where the design requires it, so nothing is cut into the bodywork.
Does the kit come with German approval paperwork? Yes. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is supplied with the set, documenting the components as tested and approved.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
