Kline Innovation has taken Lamborghini’s Aventador SVJ to new heights with a bespoke exhaust system designed for unparalleled performance. Lamborghini’s latest advancements make the Ultimae not only the fastest Aventador yet but also the most accessible in terms of handling and power. With a 769 hp, 6.5-liter V12 engine and striking design, the Aventador SVJ was built to captivate. Crafted from ultra-lightweight Inconel 625, Kline’s exhaust system enhances this powerhouse with a focus on unrivaled sound, optimized performance, and minimal weight.

The Sound

• Kline Innovation recognized that the factory Aventador SVJ exhaust lacked the special character befitting the supercar’s raw essence. Their goal was to craft an exhaust system that would deliver a piercing scream at high revs while remaining nearly stock-quiet during cruising.
• When the valve is closed, exhaust gases are routed through a series of chambers and acoustic sections, eliminating any drone entirely. With the valve open, however, the exhaust switches to a fully free-flow design for maximum performance and sound. The gases pass exclusively through Kline’s signature tight-radius X-pipe, which effectively elevates the exhaust note’s pitch. The result is a truly incendiary sound profile—aggressive and raucous, achieving that intense “demon screaming” tone at open throttle.

Performance

• Removing the catalysts and incorporating a fully free-flow system when the valve is open maximizes exhaust efficiency, leading to moderate increases in power and torque, with gains of 23 hp and 29 Nm. These improvements are observed after adjusting the air-fuel ratios through software to match the exhaust upgrade. To unlock the full performance potential of this exhaust enhancement, an ECU tune is recommended.

Stainless Steel

• Within the exhaust manufacturing domain, the industry has traditionally relied on the established standard of 304-grade stainless steel. This grade provides a well-balanced combination of moderate strength, thermochemical stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of production. It enables the construction of exhaust systems that strike a practical balance between affordability and functionality, ensuring long-term durability. However, it’s worth noting that stainless steel is relatively heavier compared to alternative materials. Although its density is similar to regular steel, it possesses slightly lower tensile strength. As a result, stainless steel has limitations when it comes to creating high-performance exhaust components and may result in a somewhat subdued and less vibrant exhaust note compared to other materials.

Inconel

• When durability and heat resistance are of utmost importance, Inconel 625 emerges as the ultimate choice widely employed in the aerospace industry. However, working with Inconel presents challenges due to its difficult machinability and specific welding requirements, demanding specialized skills and time-consuming techniques. Additionally, the unique properties and specialized manufacturing processes associated with Inconel contribute to its higher cost as a raw material.

Heat Shield

• For customers prioritizing effective heat management, Kline offers meticulously designed heat protection solutions crafted from embossed stainless steel sheets. Skilled artisans meticulously create and weld each heat shield to ensure optimal performance. By integrating these heat shields onto the manifolds, Kline effectively mitigates heat soak, improves scavenging, and enhances overall performance, resulting in a cooler engine temperature.
