Engineered to make a lasting impression, this exceptional vehicle boasts a commanding 690 horsepower V12 engine and exudes a visually striking, aggressive design. Crafted meticulously from the remarkably lightweight Inconel 625 material, the exhaust system design brief was straightforward: deliver unparalleled sound performance while maintaining a focus on reducing weight.

The Sound

• At Kline, they felt that the factory-installed Aventador exhaust lacked a certain special quality, failing to embody the raw essence of this extraordinary supercar. Consequently, their primary objective was to create an exhaust that would emit an awe-inspiring, high-pitched scream at high revs, while remaining discreetly quiet during cruising speeds.
• During valve closure, the exhaust gases are skillfully directed through a series of chambers and acoustic segments to entirely eliminate any unpleasant drone. When the valves open, the exhaust system allows for unobstructed flow, ensuring optimal performance and sound quality. The gases now pass exclusively through Kline’s signature tight-radius X-pipe, effectively elevating the pitch of the exhaust note. The resulting sound on valve open is incredibly provocative, resembling a fierce demon’s scream!

Performance

• Introducing a fully unrestricted system during valve open, Kline has achieved optimal exhaust efficiency, leading to moderate yet noticeable gains in both power and torque. You can expect an increase of 23 horsepower and 29 newton-meters of torque.

Stainless Steel

• In the realm of exhaust manufacturing, the industry has traditionally relied on the well-established standard of 304-grade stainless steel. This particular grade offers a balanced combination of moderate strength, thermochemical stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of production. It enables the construction of exhaust systems that strike a practical balance between affordability and functionality, ensuring long-lasting durability. However, it is important to note that stainless steel is relatively heavier compared to alternative materials. Although its density is similar to regular steel, it possesses slightly lower tensile strength. Consequently, stainless steel has its limitations when it comes to creating high-performance exhaust components and may result in a somewhat subdued and less vibrant exhaust note compared to other materials.

Inconel

• When durability and heat resistance are of paramount importance, Inconel 625 emerges as the ultimate choice, widely utilized in the aerospace industry. This exceptional material finds extensive application in the manufacturing of critical components, particularly exhaust turbine blades for high-performance jet engines. Inconel is highly favored in Formula One exhaust systems and has been selected by manufacturers involved in prestigious hypercar projects such as the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. The advantages of Inconel lie in its high tensile strength and excellent thermochemical stability. With a tensile strength comparable to that of titanium, it achieves an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. This allows for the utilization of thin sidewall materials while maintaining structural integrity, facilitating the production of lightweight components that exhibit exceptional resistance to fatigue over extended periods. However, working with Inconel poses challenges due to its difficult machinability and specific welding requirements, necessitating specialized skills and time-consuming techniques. Additionally, the unique properties and specialized manufacturing processes associated with Inconel contribute to its higher cost as a raw material.
