The Cayman R, boasting a robust 3.4-liter flat-six engine situated in the middle and churning out 330 horsepower, can propel itself from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds using launch control. Through the application of F1 grade Inconel 625, expertly tuned cross sections, and manifolds with a 200 cell catalyst, an exhaust system was constructed that not only projects the ideal sound but also demonstrates lightness, durability, and performance that surpass top-tier expectations.

The Sound

• In the development of the Cayman R’s sound system, inspiration was drawn from the highly praised Porsche turbo range. A multitude of similar design features were incorporated, including a 1D CLR X pipe for a blistering howl at higher rpms, harmonically tuned silencers, and ultra-thin Inconel 625 for a sound that’s uniquely “Kline”. The Kline Cayman R system also includes a valvetronic design, which allows the car to operate quietly when the valve is closed, but produce a raw, unrestricted roar and achieve optimal performance when the valves are open. This system is available with performance 100 / 200 cell high-flow sports cats. The cat section is modular, enabling swift interchangeability between the cats and racing pipes, depending on the intended use.

Stainless Steel

• 304-grade stainless steel is a favored choice in the realm of exhaust manufacturing due to its durability, thermal stability, cost-effectiveness, and fabrication ease. However, its significant weight and limited tensile strength can become impediments when used in high-performance exhaust components. Furthermore, the necessity for thicker walls could possibly dampen the exhaust’s sound.

Inconel

• In contrast, Inconel 625 is esteemed for its robustness and resistance to heat. It is commonly chosen for crafting essential components such as high-performance jet engine exhaust turbine blades.
