Can I keep my factory grille?

No. The Type-S Front Bumper for CL7 cars does not accept the factory grille. The grille opening comes with an aluminum mesh, and a dedicated carbon grille is offered separately by the manufacturer for owners who want a finished grille rather than the mesh alone.

Will my fog lights fit the Type-S Front Bumper for CL7 cars?

Only early-model factory fog lights fit. They bolt into the lower ducts of the Type-S Front Bumper for CL7 Accord Euro R models. Late-model fog lights cannot be installed, and without lights the lower openings work as air ducts that can feed brake cooling.

Does the bumper need to be painted?

Yes. It is made from FRP and supplied in black gelcoat, which is a base rather than a finished surface. Paint is not included, so budget for a body shop to prep, fit and color match it. Test fitting before paint is the usual practice with FRP aero.

Will the bumper scrape on driveways?

The manufacturer shaped the bumper so that minimum ground clearance is not sacrificed, taking curbs and steps into account for street use. Clearance will still depend on your ride height and tire size, so a lowered car should take steep driveway entries at an angle.

Does it fit an Acura TSX?

Not confirmed. The Japanese catalogue lists the CL7 Euro R along with Japanese-market CL9 Accord sedans and CM2 wagons, but the Acura TSX is not named. Bulletproof Automotive checks fitment with the US distributor before accepting an order for a TSX.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Front Bumper for CL7 Honda Accord Euro R

J’s Racing’s Type-S Front Bumper for CL7 Accord Euro R owners is part of the Osaka tuner’s Type-S aero program, built in FRP and finished in black gelcoat. Its under panel is shaped like a wing, so it generates strong downforce while keeping drag low, and a large central opening feeds more air to the radiator to hold coolant temperatures down during hard driving. J’s Racing kept the ground clearance practical, so curbs and driveway lips are less of a worry. It suits an owner who drives to the circuit as well as around it; anyone wanting the factory face should look elsewhere, because the stock grille does not carry over.

Design and Performance

J’s Racing North America explains that steadier coolant temperatures help avoid the power loss that comes when the ECU corrects for heat during sustained high-rpm driving. The lower ducts accept the factory fog lights from early-model cars on a bolt-on basis, and when no lights are fitted the openings act as air ducts, which can be used for brake cooling.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
