Are hood pins and the aluminum net included with the Type-S Aero Hood for DC5 cars?

No. The Type-S Aero Hood for DC5 cars works with the factory striker, but hood pins are not included and are recommended for sports driving. The aluminum net and inner rain protector are optional extras sold separately, and paint is not included either.

Is it only for the Integra Type S?

No. Type-S is the name of the aero line the hood belongs to, not a trim requirement. The manufacturer lists it for the DC5 Integra, and the US distributor files it under the Acura RSX. Ask Bulletproof Automotive to confirm fitment if your car has a different hood latch or body parts.

How much does it weigh?

The manufacturer quotes about 6 kg for the FRP hood and measured the Carbon and FRP hood at 6.9 kg as a reference value. No weight is published for the Full Carbon version, which uses carbon on both faces for the lightest build of the three.

Will it fit with the Tsuchinoko intake?

Yes, with modification. The manufacturer states that fitting the hood alongside its Tsuchinoko intake system requires modification, and that the inner rain protector cannot be installed in that combination. Plan the work with your installer if you run or intend to run both parts.

Which material option should I choose?

Choose FRP to paint the hood to match the car, since it arrives in black gelcoat. Carbon and FRP puts a single-piece carbon top surface over an FRP underside. Full Carbon uses carbon on both faces. All three share the same shape, vent design and two-layer strength.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Aero Hood for DC5 Honda Integra Type R and Acura RSX

J’s Racing’s Type-S Aero Hood for DC5 Integra Type R and RSX owners belongs to the Osaka tuner’s Type-S aero line and is shaped to create turbulence over the hood that draws hot air out of the engine bay. J’s reports reliably lower coolant and intake air temperatures than with the stock hood, though it publishes no figures. A two-layer structure keeps strength equal to the factory part, the stock striker carries over, and the hood comes in FRP, carbon over FRP, or full carbon. It earns its place on a car that works hard in hot weather; on a show car the benefit is mostly visual.

Construction

The carbon versions use a single piece of carbon cloth across the top, which J’s Racing says gives an outstanding finish, over an FRP underside on Carbon and FRP or a carbon underside on Full Carbon. The FRP hood is finished in black gelcoat, ready for paint.

Features

Shape creates turbulence above the hood to pull out engine bay heat
Lower coolant and intake air temperatures than stock, per J’s testing
Two-layer construction with factory-equivalent strength
Works with the stock hood striker
Three builds: FRP, Carbon and FRP, or Full Carbon

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
