J’s Racing Rapfix II RE:V Quick Release
Rapfix II RE:V Quick Release in black and red: a die-forged, Teflon-lined ball-lock system that connects the horn as the wheel locks into place.
J’s Racing’s Rapfix II RE:V Quick Release, catalogued as the SPL Rapfix II RE:V, is the returning black and red collaboration between Works Bell and J’s Racing: a removable steering wheel system built on the ball-lock Rapfix design. Rapfix II was developed for one-action fitting and lower weight, and this version’s aluminum sleeve makes it about 174g lighter than the earlier product. Push the wheel on at any angle and it still locks at the top position, while the horn circuit connects as the wheel goes on. It suits an owner who takes the wheel off regularly; if yours never comes off, a plain steering boss is the simpler choice.
J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.
