Are the muffler bushes included?

No. Three Type A reinforced muffler bushes are required for installation and must be ordered separately. Add them to the same order so the exhaust can be fitted as soon as it arrives, since the system ships from Japan and a missing bush would hold up the job.

How does the FX-PRO 70RR Exhaust for AP1 cars differ from the 70RS?

Both use a 70mm main pipe, but the FX-PRO 70RR Exhaust for AP1 and AP2 cars has no center-pipe silencer and starts further forward in the system, chasing the lowest possible back pressure. The 70RS trades that layout for a center silencer and better sound reduction at circuits with noise limits.

Yes. Both generations appear in the fitment list, so the 70RR covers the 2.0L F20C AP1 of 1999 to 2003 and the 2.2L F22C AP2 of 2004 to 2009. The manufacturer does warn that driveshaft spacers or similar parts from other brands can interfere, so check clearance on a modified car.

How much weight does it save?

The manufacturer quotes a saving of about 50 percent against the stock muffler, achieved with thin 1mm titanium pipe. No absolute weight is published, so Bulletproof Automotive cannot give a figure in pounds, and the US distributor notes that the saving varies by model.

Does it need any other changes to the exhaust?

The 70RR begins further forward than the 60RS and 70RS systems, so it does not follow the same layout as those models. Bulletproof Automotive recommends confirming the full layout for your car before ordering, and checking clearance if the car runs driveshaft spacers from another brand.

Description

J’s Racing FX-PRO 70RR Exhaust for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s FX-PRO 70RR Exhaust for AP1 and AP2 S2000s is the Osaka tuner’s pure power option and the top of its FX-PRO full titanium range. The main pipe grows to 70mm, the largest J’s Racing uses on any muffler, and the system starts further forward than the RS versions so back pressure falls as far as the design allows. Built from 1mm titanium, it claims a weight saving of about 50 percent over the stock muffler, which J’s Racing’s US distributor ties to both acceleration and cornering. It belongs on a dedicated circuit S2000; a car that needs to stay quieter on the road or at noise-limited tracks suits the 60RS or 70RS.

Design and Performance

As the pure power member of the RR series, the 70RR lifts torque and power from low rpm to the limiter. Three-dimensional bending keeps the titanium tube smooth inside, and the larger silencer from the latest redesign follows the same straight-through principle J’s Racing has long used to cut back pressure. The dolphin tail is cut for a sharp finish and colored by hand.

Features

70mm main pipe, the largest in the J’s Racing muffler range
Begins further forward in the exhaust than the RS models to minimize back pressure
Roughly half the weight of a stock muffler, J’s Racing reports
Torque and power gains across the rev range
1mm titanium tube shaped on a three-dimensional bender

Applications

Honda S2000: AP1 | 1999-2003 | 2.0L F20C
Honda S2000: AP2 | 2004-2009 | 2.2L F22C

Notes

Three Type A reinforced muffler bushes are needed and sold separately
Because the 70RR begins further forward than the 60RS and 70RS systems, confirm the layout with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering
Watch for interference from driveshaft spacers made by other companies
The full-system photo is illustrative, and hand-applied tip color varies from unit to unit
A stainless alternative is the R304 70RR Exhaust for the AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000
Built in Japan once ordered; Bulletproof Automotive checks the lead time with J’s Racing USA and confirms it to you

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
