Which bumper option do I need?

The JDM Model is designed for the factory aero bumper on Japanese-market 1.3 and 1.5S cars. A US Model version is offered for the North American Fit bumper. Bumpers differ between markets, so tell Bulletproof Automotive your model year and trim and we will confirm the correct option before ordering.

Does the Front Wing Spoiler for GD1 cars hurt top speed?

It is designed not to. The Front Wing Spoiler for GD1, GD2 and GD3 Fits lets part of the downforce bleed off between the wing and the end plates, because the manufacturer found that excess downforce costs a low-powered car like the Fit in drag and final speed.

Will it scrape on a lowered car?

The spoiler looks low, but the manufacturer designed it with lowered cars in mind and matched the ground clearance of the factory optional skirt. Clearance still depends on your suspension and tires, so approach steep driveways and parking blocks with care on a lowered Fit.

What is the difference between Carbon and FRP?

The Carbon option has carbon end plates with an FRP main body, while the FRP option uses FRP for both. In each case the FRP sections arrive unpainted in black gelcoat, ready for color. The shape, mounting and dedicated bolts and nuts are the same for both.

Has it been used in competition?

Yes. The manufacturer fitted this front wing to FIT-GT, its Fit time attack car, which recorded a time in the one-minute-flat range at Tsukuba Circuit. The company cites that program as evidence of both its aerodynamic effect and its durability under real track use.

Description

J’s Racing Front Wing Spoiler for GD1 / GD2 / GD3 Honda Fit

J’s Racing’s Front Wing Spoiler for GD1, GD2 and GD3 Fits is the Type S lip the Osaka tuner fitted to FIT-GT, its Tsukuba time attack car, which ran into the one-minute-flat bracket at that circuit. On a front-drive car, downforce over the driven wheels is what lifts cornering grip, but J’s Racing points out that a low-powered car like the Fit pays for too much of it in drag. So the wing and its end plates are shaped to let some load bleed off, giving useful grip without blunting top speed. It suits an owner chasing lap times or sharper turn-in; a car kept at stock height will gain less.

Design and Performance

The end plates straighten the airflow at the tips of the wing. Although the spoiler looks low, J’s Racing designed it around lowered cars and kept ground clearance the same as with the factory optional skirt fitted. On the Carbon option, the end plates are carbon and the main body is unpainted FRP in black gelcoat; the FRP option is black gelcoat throughout.

Type S wing profile that adds front downforce over the driven wheels
End plates straighten flow at the wing tips

Proven on the FIT-GT Tsukuba time attack car
Dedicated bolts and nuts included

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
