Do the ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set fit the Evo X?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists the ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with a 14mm top and 14mm bottom adapter, set of four, for the Mitsubishi Evo X. The injectors use USCAR connectors, so confirm whether your wiring needs an adapter, and plan a fuel pump able to keep up with four injectors of this size.

Why does the Evo X configuration use a bottom adapter?

The adapter sets the lower seal at 14mm to suit the Evo X manifold bore, which is why Injector Dynamics specifies this version and not the plain O-ring set for the car. It comes fitted to each injector, so the set goes in as supplied, with no parts to move across from the old injectors.

Is a 2600 sensible for a street Evo X?

Usually not. Each injector flows 2600cc per minute nominal, far beyond what a stock turbo Evo X can burn. This set is for an Evo X with a much larger turbo on methanol or E85; milder cars suit the ID1300-XDS or ID1750-XDS.

Will my Evo X need a retune after fitting these?

Yes. The Evo X engine management has to be given the Injector Dynamics characterization data for the 2600, covering flow, offset and short pulse behaviour. Without it, fueling at idle and part throttle will be wrong, so book the tune before the car is driven.

How is a failed injector handled for the Evo X set?

Through Injector Dynamics, which replaces single injectors in its flow matched sets so all four stay balanced. The one year warranty from purchase covers manufacturer defects, as long as the car has run the correct fuel with proper filtration ahead of the rail.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Bottom Adapter, Set of 4

Injector Dynamics’ ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this four-piece set carry a grey 14mm top adapter and a black 14mm bottom adapter, the layout Injector Dynamics specifies for the Mitsubishi Evo X. Four injectors at 2600cc/min nominal each supply a volume of fuel that only makes sense on a heavily built engine running large boost on E85 or methanol. Dual Slope Matching keeps the four consistent at idle pulse widths. A stock-turbo Evo X, or one on pump gasoline, will be easier to live with on the ID1300-XDS or ID1750-XDS.

Configuration

Injector Dynamics ties this set to the Evo X through the 48mm body and the bottom adapter, which carries the 14mm lower seal. The same body with plain lower O-rings belongs to other applications, so order by the full part number.

Features

Built to Injector Dynamics specification with Bosch Motorsport, the top-flowing injector in the Bosch range
Internals resist corrosion from long-term exposure to methanol and ethanol
Flows roughly half again as much as the ID1700x
Matched in both the linear and short pulse ranges using Dual Slope Matching

Specifications

Nominal flow: 2600cc/min
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 9.0 bar (130.5 psi)
Minimum voltage: 11 volts
Fuel compatibility: Methanol, ethanol and all known hydrocarbons; not ethers or nitromethane
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 48mm
Top: 14mm adapter (grey)
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (black)

What’s Included

ID2600-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters and 14mm bottom adapters fitted (x4)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

Notes

Each injector has a USCAR plug; engines wired for Denso, EV1, OBD2 Honda or 2012+ Honda connectors need an Injector Dynamics adapter, and the Denso one is the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
Black 14mm bottom adapters come fitted, giving the injector a 14mm lower seal
A tuner must load the Injector Dynamics characterization data and recalibrate the ECU after installation
Injector Dynamics specifies a minimum supply of 11 volts for the ID2600-XDS

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
