What does the WRX-16B bottom adapter do?

It adapts the 14mm lower end of the injector to a 16mm bore, the lower size Injector Dynamics specifies for the WRX, the 2007 and later STi, the Legacy GT and the Forester XT. The adapter comes fitted, so the injectors are ready for that 16mm bore out of the box.

Does this set fit a 2004 to 2006 STi?

No. Injector Dynamics lists this configuration for the 2007 to 2020 STi and the 2002 to 2014 WRX. The 2004 to 2006 STi has its own application code for top-feed conversion rails, offered separately, so check the model year and rail type first.

Are the ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors a good match for an E85 WRX?

Yes, for a big turbo build. The ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors are rated for long term ethanol use and give the fuel volume E85 demands at high boost. A stock turbo WRX on E85 is usually covered by the 1300 or 1750 class, which leaves more pulse width at idle.

Will the car need a retune?

Yes. The ECU calculates fuel from injector flow, offset and short pulse data, and all three change with the 2600. Injector Dynamics publishes the characterization data, including a 605 microsecond offset at 43.5 psi and 12 volts, which the tuner enters before the car is driven.

Can a single injector be replaced if one fails?

Yes, through Injector Dynamics. The four are flow matched, so a replacement is matched to the rest of the set rather than pulled from stock. The one year warranty covers manufacturer defects when the injectors run correct fuel with proper filtration, and Injector Dynamics offers cleaning and flow testing in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with 11mm Top and WRX-16B Bottom Adapter, Set of 4

Injector Dynamics’ ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set of four carry an 11mm top adapter and the WRX-16B bottom adapter, which steps the 14mm lower end up to the 16mm lower bore used on these Subaru engines. Injector Dynamics lists the configuration for the 2002-2014 WRX, the 2007-2020 STi, and the 2007-2011 Legacy GT and Forester XT. An EJ on a big turbo running E85 or methanol is where 2600cc/min per injector is needed; a stock-turbo car on pump gasoline is better served by the ID1300-XDS or ID1750-XDS. Dual Slope Matching keeps the four even in the short pulses at idle.

Configuration

The 48 is the 48mm body, the 11 is the 11mm top adapter and WRX is the WRX-16B bottom adapter, fitted to each injector so it seals in the 16mm lower bore. The 2004-2006 STi is not on this list; it has its own top-feed conversion configuration.

Features

Developed with Bosch Motorsport for liquid fuels, with corrosion-resistant internals
Dual Slope Matching in both the linear and non-linear range for consistent short pulse widths
Long-term ethanol and methanol compatibility alongside all known hydrocarbon fuels

Specifications

Nominal flow: 2600cc/min
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 9.0 bar (130.5 psi)
Minimum voltage: 11 volts
Fuel compatibility: Methanol, ethanol, all known hydrocarbons; not ethers or nitromethane
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 48mm
Top: 11mm adapter
Lower: WRX-16B bottom adapter, 14mm to 16mm

What’s Included

ID2600-XDS fuel injectors with 11mm top adapters and WRX-16B bottom adapters fitted (x4)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID2600-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Subaru Legacy GT and Forester XT: 2007-2011
Subaru WRX and WRX STi: WRX 2002-2014 | STi 2007-2020

Notes

Electrical connection is USCAR; Injector Dynamics makes adapters for EV1, OBD2 Honda and 2012+ Honda plugs, sold separately, and Denso-wired engines use the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
WRX-16B bottom adapters are fitted, stepping the 14mm lower end up to the 16mm Subaru bore
Recalibration of the engine management is mandatory, working from the Injector Dynamics data for the ID2600-XDS

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
