Can the ID1300-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors run E85 in an Evo X?

Yes. Injector Dynamics designed the ID1300-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors around alternative fuels and rates them for every known fuel, with stainless internals that tolerate ethanol long term. An Evo X on E85 burns roughly a third more fuel than on gasoline for the same power, so the fuel pump must keep up too.

Is this the right set for an Evo X?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists the 48mm body with a 14mm top and 14B bottom adapter for the Lancer Evolution X, and this set of four follows that configuration. The Evolution III through IX use a 60mm injector with an 11mm top and a Denso lower cushion, so they need a different part.

Can I fit these to my Evo X and drive on the old map?

No. At 1335cc per minute these injectors flow far more than the factory Evo X parts, so the existing calibration would run very rich. The tuner needs the Injector Dynamics characterization data for flow and offset loaded into the engine computer before the car is driven.

Why does the Evo X set include a bottom adapter?

The 14mm bottom adapter gives the compact 48mm body the lower seal the Evo X calls for. Injector Dynamics keeps one compact body across more than 200 applications and changes the top and bottom hardware to suit each engine, which is how a single injector design covers cars as different as the Evo X and the Viper.

Is a 1300 too much injector for a stock turbo Evo X?

Yes, usually. On pump gasoline with the factory turbo, the ID1050-XDS at 1065cc per minute may be enough for an Evo X. The ID1300-XDS suits a car moving to E85 or a larger turbo, and its gasoline friendly minimum fuel mass lets it idle cleanly before that step.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Bottom Adapter, Set of 4

Injector Dynamics’ ID1300-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors fill the four bores of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in this set, each with a 14mm top and a black 14mm bottom adapter. At 1335cc/min per injector on iso-octane, the set is aimed at an Evo X that has moved to a larger turbo, E85 or both. Injector Dynamics built the 1300 for alcohol fuels with stainless internals, and its minimum fuel mass still suits gasoline at idle. An Evo X with the factory turbo on pump fuel is better matched to a smaller injector.

Configuration

The 48 in the part number is the body length, the first 14 is the top and 14B is the 14mm bottom adapter, finished in black on this 48mm body according to Turn 14. Four injectors make up the set, one per cylinder.

Features

Flow matched as a set of 4
Minimum fuel mass suited to gasoline for good idle and cruise
Compact body shared across more than 200 applications
Black 14mm bottom adapter giving the 48mm body the lower seal this application uses

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1335cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), iso-octane at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 7.0 bar (101.5 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 48mm
Top: 14mm adapter
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (black)

What’s Included

ID1300-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters and black 14mm bottom adapters (x4)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1300-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Mitsubishi: Lancer Evolution X

Notes

Configured with a 14mm bottom adapter on each injector, as Injector Dynamics lists for the Evo X

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
