What is a Denso lower cushion?

It is the lower seal used on many Denso injected engines, a cushion that seats the injector tip in place of an O-ring. This set pairs it with an 11mm top on a 48mm body. Check that your manifold uses a Denso style seat before ordering.

Does this set fit Toyota or Mitsubishi engines that use Denso injectors?

No, not as listed. The Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan applications that Injector Dynamics lists with a Denso lower cushion all use a 60mm injector. This 48mm version suits rails or manifolds modified for the shorter body, so confirm the length before you buy.

What fuels can the ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors run?

Injector Dynamics rates the ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors for all known fuels, from pump gasoline to E85 and methanol. The internals are corrosion resistant for long service on alcohol, so the same set can stay in place if the engine later changes fuel, with the calibration updated.

Will the engine need a new calibration with these injectors?

Yes. The ECU works out fuel delivery from injector flow, offset and short pulse data, and the ID1050-XDS differs from the factory injector on all of them. Injector Dynamics publishes characterization data for the 1050, which your tuner enters before the engine is run so the mixture is right from idle to full load.

What happens if one of the Denso cushion injectors turns out faulty?

Injector Dynamics warrants its injectors against manufacturer defects for one year from purchase, subject to correct fuel and proper filtration. A matched replacement is supplied through Injector Dynamics so all six Denso cushion injectors stay balanced. For injectors with miles on them, the company runs a cleaning, inspection and flow test service in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with 11mm Top and Denso Lower Cushion, Set of 6

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set of six use an 11mm top and a Denso lower cushion instead of a lower O-ring, the seal found on many Denso-equipped engines. Every car application Injector Dynamics lists with a Denso lower cushion uses a 60mm body, so this 48mm version is for a rail or manifold built around the shorter injector. That narrows it to custom and modified fuel systems, and the injectors you remove should be measured first. Where it fits, the set gives a six-cylinder 1065cc/min per injector, a 10 bar pressure limit and approval for every known fuel.

Configuration

The ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set read as family 1050, a 48mm body, an 11mm top, a Denso lower cushion and six injectors. The cushion seats the injector tip in place of an O-ring.

Features

Developed with Bosch Motorsport, corrosion-resistant internals
Stable to 10 bar differential pressure
Compact body shared across more than 200 applications
Six injectors flow matched, with replaceable inlet filters

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 48mm
Top: 11mm
Lower: Denso cushion

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with 11mm tops and Denso lower cushions (x6)

Applications

Injector Dynamics does not publish a vehicle list for this configuration; it fits fuel systems built for a 48mm injector with an 11mm top and a Denso lower cushion.

Notes

Denso lower cushion on a 48mm body; the Denso-cushion vehicles Injector Dynamics lists use 60mm injectors instead
Plug-and-play adapters for Denso, EV1 and OBD2 wiring are not included with these USCAR-connector injectors; Denso-wired engines can use the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
Budget for an ECU recalibration, as the tuner needs the Injector Dynamics characterization data for the 1050

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
