Does this Injector Set for McLaren P1 also fit the 12C, 650S and 570S?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists the ID1750-XDS for the McLaren P1 and for the MP4-12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S and 675LT, and the same part number, 1750.34.14.14.8, serves all six because each runs a version of the M838T twin turbo V8. Check that your car is on that list before ordering, since later McLarens use a different engine.

Will it fit a 720S or Senna?

No. The 720S and Senna run the M840T engine and take a different Injector Dynamics set, part number 1750.34.14.14.16, which contains 16 injectors and costs roughly twice as much. This eight piece set is only for the M838T family: the 12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S, 675LT and P1. Choose the part number that matches the engine in your car.

Do I need adapters or a new harness?

No adapters are needed on the M838T cars. The set is a direct replacement on the factory fuel rails, with a USCAR electrical connector and 14mm lower O-rings that suit the factory hardware. Fit the injectors, connect them to the factory harness and have the calibration updated before the car is driven, because the fueling will be wrong until it is.

Does fitting the injectors require an ECU tune?

Yes. Fuel delivery is calculated from injector characterization data, and a larger injector changes offset, flow and short pulse behavior compared with the factory part. Injector Dynamics publishes that data for the ID1750-XDS, so a tuner can load it directly. An Injector Set for McLaren P1 and M838T builds should be fitted as part of the tune, never ahead of it.

Can the M838T run E85 on these injectors?

The ID1750-XDS is rated for ethanol, methanol, MTBE, nitromethane and all known hydrocarbon fuels, so E85 is within its rating. Ethanol needs considerably more fuel volume than gasoline for the same power, which is why tuned McLarens outgrow the factory injectors. The fuel pump, the lines and the calibration must all be sized for the same fuel.

What flow does the ID1750-XDS deliver?

Injector Dynamics rates it at 1728cc per minute at 3.0 bar, or 43.5 psi, measured on E10 emissions certification fuel at 49C, with a maximum differential fuel pressure of 7.0 bar, or 101.5 psi. The 1750 in the name is a rounded class figure, and Injector Dynamics publishes dynamic flow data across battery voltages and fuel pressures.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1750-XDS Injector Set for McLaren P1, 12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S and 675LT

Injector Dynamics’ ID1750-XDS Injector Set for McLaren P1, 12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S and 675LT covers every car built on the M838T twin-turbo V8 family with a single part number, flow-matched injectors rated at 1728cc/min at 43.5 psi. That flow is the reason to buy it. A tuned M838T running an ethanol blend outgrows the factory injectors long before it runs out of turbo, and the 1750 gives the calibration room to work with. Injector Dynamics developed it to replace the ID1700, raising dynamic flow at the top end without adding to the minimum fuel mass, so control at idle and light load is kept. For a car staying on pump fuel at factory boost it is more injector than the engine will use. For a McLaren being built properly on E85, it is the injector the rest of the fuel system should be sized around.

Fitting and Calibration

On the M838T cars the set is a direct replacement on the factory fuel rails, with a USCAR connector and 14mm lower O-rings and no adapters required. The part number is shared across six cars because each runs a version of the same engine: M838T in the 12C, 650S and 675LT, M838TE in the 570S and 600LT, and M838TQ in the hybrid P1. The 720S and Senna run the later M840T and take a different set. Whatever the car, the injectors and the calibration go in together: Injector Dynamics publishes characterization data for the 1750, and the tuner loads it so fueling is correct across the rev range.

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics designs and tests fuel injectors for motorsport and high-output road engines. The company builds its own flow test equipment, including a NIST-traceable flow prover, is an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, and supplied the emissions-compliant injectors Noble Automotive used on the twin-turbo M600. Its injectors are sold in flow-matched sets, with published characterization data for tuners.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
