Will the Charge Pipe Kit for CZ4A Evo X models fit a Lancer Ralliart?

No. HPS lists the Charge Pipe Kit for CZ4A Evo X models, part number 17-103, for the 2008-2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR and MR in USDM, JDM and European specification. The Lancer Ralliart and the standard Lancer are not on the HPS application list, so the pipe should not be assumed to fit them.

Does the pipe work with an aftermarket intercooler?

Yes. HPS states the upper intercooler pipe is compatible with all aftermarket intercoolers that keep the factory outlet angle. Owners running a core with a relocated or re-angled outlet should confirm the outlet position before ordering, since the pipe is shaped to match the factory layout.

How much boost can the couplers handle?

HPS rates the included 4-ply reinforced silicone couplers to withstand a minimum of 50 psi of boost. They replace the factory rubber couplers, which HPS says often crack or fail over time, and the bead-rolled pipe ends work with the stainless T-bolt clamps to keep each joint from blowing off under pressure.

Does the Evo X need a tune after installing the pipe?

No. HPS states the one-piece pipe delivers mid-range gains without re-tuning the ECU, requires no modification and does not trigger a check engine light. HPS does not publish a dyno figure for the Evo X pipe, so BA does not quote a specific horsepower number.

What is included and how is it installed?

The kit includes the one-piece aluminum upper intercooler pipe, HPS reinforced silicone couplers, 100 percent stainless steel T-bolt clamps and a step-by-step installation manual with clear pictures. HPS describes it as a direct replacement for the factory pipe, so installation is a straight swap with no cutting or modification.

Description

HPS Upper Intercooler Charge Pipe Kit for CZ4A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

HPS’s Upper Intercooler Charge Pipe Kit for CZ4A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is a direct replacement for the factory upper intercooler pipe, the hot charge pipe HPS calls the UICP, on 2008-2015 Evo X GSR and MR models in USDM, JDM and European form. It is one piece of 2.5 inch mandrel-bent aluminum with a smooth 2 to 2.5 inch transition, sealed by 4-ply silicone couplers that HPS rates to at least 50 psi. Owners who have fitted a bigger intercooler, or plan to, can use it with any aftermarket core that keeps the factory outlet angle.

Design and Performance

The factory rubber couplers are the usual weak point, and HPS says they often crack or fail with time. Swapping them for reinforced silicone and seating each joint over a bead-rolled end is the main reason to buy this pipe. HPS promises mid-range gains without re-tuning the ECU but gives no dyno figure, so on a stock Evo X the case is reliability first; on a tuned car the higher coupler rating carries more weight.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
