Does the hose kit for SR II Vipers fit both the GTS coupe and the R/T-10 roadster?

Yes. HPS lists part number 57-1210-BLK for the 1996-2002 Dodge Viper 8.0L V10 in the Base, GTS, R/T-10, GT2 and ACR versions, in the years each one was built. Coupe and roadster owners order the same kit, since one HPS part number covers every version on that list, from the 1996 Base car to the 2002 ACR.

Will this kit fit a 1992-1995 Viper or a 2003 Viper SRT-10?

No. HPS lists this kit for the 1996-2002 cars with the 8.0L V10 only, and the earlier first-generation RT/10 does not appear on its application list. The 2003-2006 Viper SRT-10 with the 8.3L V10 takes HPS kit 57-1317, which Bulletproof Automotive lists as a separate product.

Which hoses come in the kit?

The kit contains the upper and lower radiator hoses, the two hoses that carry coolant between the 8.0L V10 and the radiator, along with HPS stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps. Heater hoses are not part of this kit, so a complete cooling refresh on an SR II Viper calls for a separate heater hose set.

Will silicone radiator hoses make the Viper lose coolant?

Yes, slowly. HPS states that silicone passes water through its wall at 10 to 15 times the rate of EPDM rubber, so a Viper running the hose kit for SR II cars can need an occasional top-up even with every clamp tight. A glance at the overflow tank during routine checks is enough to stay ahead of it.

How are the hoses installed?

Fitting the kit means draining the coolant, removing the factory upper and lower hoses, installing the HPS hoses with the supplied clamps, then refilling and bleeding air out of the system. Because HPS forms the hoses to the factory shape and includes the clamps, the job is the same as a standard radiator hose replacement on the Viper.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for SR II Dodge Viper 8.0L

HPS’s Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for SR II Dodge Viper 8.0L cars swaps the factory rubber upper and lower radiator hoses on the 1996-2002 V10 for black 3-ply reinforced silicone rated to 350F. The newest of these Vipers is now more than twenty years old, and original hoses of that age are often hard, cracked or soft at the ends. HPS forms both pieces to the factory bends and supplies stainless clamps, so the kit suits an owner bringing a GTS or R/T-10 back to regular use.

Design and Performance

Each hose is three plies of reinforced silicone shaped to follow the Dodge routing between the 8.0L V10 and the radiator, and HPS describes the material as meeting or exceeding OE specifications. Treat it as a long-life replacement rather than a cooling upgrade: it will not lower temperatures on a healthy system, and silicone passes more water through its wall than rubber does, so the coolant level needs watching.

Features

Replaces cracked, damaged or collapsed factory upper and lower radiator coolant hoses
Correct bends and curves to follow the factory hose routing
Engineered for prolonged exposure to under-hood and coolant heat, according to HPS
Stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps that grip without cutting the silicone

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
