Does the radiator hose kit for S197 Mustang GT cars fit the Shelby GT500?

No. HPS lists part number 57-1014 for the 2007-2010 Ford Mustang GT V8 only. The Shelby GT500 and the V6 cars of the same years are not on its application list, so this kit should be ordered for the GT alone.

Can the 2005-2006 kit be used on a 2007-2010 GT instead?

No. HPS lists 57-1013 for the 2005-2006 Mustang V8 and 57-1014 for the 2007-2010 Mustang GT as separate applications, even though both cars are S197 Mustangs. Bulletproof Automotive lists both kits, so order the one that matches the model year of the car.

Why choose silicone over new rubber hoses?

A new rubber hose restores factory condition. HPS builds these hoses from 3-ply reinforced silicone rated to 350F, engineered for prolonged under-hood and coolant heat, and says the material meets or exceeds OE specifications. The trade is color choice and heat resistance in exchange for slightly more coolant permeation than rubber.

Will the GT lose coolant through silicone hoses?

Yes, gradually. HPS states that silicone hose lets water permeate at 10 to 15 times the rate of standard EPDM rubber, so a GT running the radiator hose kit for S197 cars can need small top-ups with every clamp tight. HPS recommends checking the coolant level regularly when the car is driven daily.

What does fitting the hoses involve?

Drain the coolant, loosen the factory clamps and remove the upper and lower hoses, then fit the HPS hoses with the stainless clamps from the kit. Refill with fresh coolant and bleed out trapped air before driving. Since the hoses follow the factory bends, the process matches a standard hose change on the GT.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for S197 Ford Mustang GT (2007-2010)

HPS’s Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for S197 Ford Mustang GT (2007-2010) owners is HPS part number 57-1014, a pair of 3-ply reinforced silicone radiator hoses that replace the upper and lower rubber originals on the later S197 GT. Rated to 350F and sold in black, blue or red, the hoses arrive with stainless non-perforated embossed clamps. Pick it for a GT whose original hoses have cracked or collapsed, or for a build where colored hoses are part of the look.

Design and Performance

Three plies of reinforced silicone give each hose its shape, molded to the Ford bends so the GT keeps its factory routing. HPS rates the material far above any temperature a working cooling system should reach, which is why the kit makes sense on a car that sees track days or long summer traffic. It is no substitute for a healthy radiator or thermostat, and owners should expect to check coolant a little more often.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
