Which model years does this hose kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe cars cover?

HPS lists part number 57-1664 as its radiator hose kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe models from 2016 to 2020 with the 6.2L V8. Later model years, the convertible and the earlier fifth-generation SS are not on the HPS application list for this kit, so owners of those cars should check with BA before ordering.

Which parts are in the kit?

The kit supplies the upper and lower radiator hoses that link the 6.2L V8 to the radiator, molded in HPS reinforced silicone, together with HPS stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps. Heater hoses and coolant are not included, so fresh coolant should be on hand for the refill.

Will the SS run cooler with silicone hoses?

No, not on its own. Hose material does not change radiator capacity, so a healthy cooling system will hold the same temperature. HPS positions the kit as a fix for leaks and overheating caused by cracked, damaged or collapsed rubber hoses, and as a hose built to cope with prolonged under-hood heat.

Should coolant be checked more often after the swap?

Yes. HPS advises that silicone coolant hose permeates water at 10 to 15 times the rate of standard EPDM rubber hose, and recommends regular checks of the coolant level on any daily-driven vehicle. On a Camaro SS that simply means looking at the reservoir as part of routine maintenance.

What does installation involve?

The cooling system is drained, the factory upper and lower hoses come off, and the HPS hoses go on with the supplied stainless clamps. After refilling, the system must be bled of air. HPS molds both hoses to the factory bends, so the job follows the same steps as a standard hose replacement on the SS.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe 6.2L (2016-2020)

HPS’s Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe 6.2L (2016-2020) gives the sixth-generation SS a pair of molded silicone radiator hoses in place of the factory rubber upper and lower lines. HPS catalogues it as part number 57-1664 for the coupe alone, builds each hose from three reinforced plies and rates the material to 350F, and packs stainless steel embossed clamps with it. It is aimed at the owner who wants silicone fitted before the original rubber starts to weep or crack.

Design and Performance

For a daily-driven Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe with healthy factory hoses, this kit is preventive maintenance with a color choice rather than a performance part, and it will not lower coolant temperature. It earns its place on a car that sees track days or long hot drives, since HPS engineers the hoses for prolonged under-hood and coolant heat and rates them well beyond what the stock system reaches.

Features

Factory-shaped upper and lower radiator hoses for a direct replacement
Engineered for prolonged exposure to under-hood and coolant heat
Non-perforated, embossed stainless steel clamps that protect the silicone from cuts
Meets or exceeds OE specifications, as stated by HPS

Silicone hose passes water at 10 to 15 times the rate of EPDM rubber, according to HPS, so the coolant level needs regular checks

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
