Does this hose kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L cars fit a 2012 to 2015 SS?

No. HPS lists part number 57-1304 for the 2010-2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L only. HPS makes a separate radiator hose kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS cars from 2012-2015, so owners of later fifth-generation cars should order that kit instead, and the V6 cars take a different HPS kit again.

Are both radiator hoses included?

Yes. The kit contains the upper hose and the lower hose that connect the 6.2L V8 to the radiator, along with HPS stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps. Heater hoses and coolant are not part of the kit, so plan on buying fresh coolant for the refill before starting the job.

Why does the coolant level drop slightly with silicone hoses?

Silicone is more permeable to water than rubber. HPS puts the permeation rate of silicone coolant hose at 10 to 15 times that of standard EPDM rubber hose, so a little water escapes through the hose wall over time even with no leak. Checking the reservoir regularly on a daily-driven SS keeps the level where it should be.

Is silicone a worthwhile upgrade on a stock SS?

Yes, mainly for longevity. HPS rates the three-ply silicone to 350F and says the hoses meet or exceed OE specifications, which is more heat tolerance than a stock 6.2L needs. The practical gain is a pair of hoses built to avoid the cracking and collapse that end the life of rubber ones, plus a choice of color.

How is the kit installed?

Drain the coolant, remove the factory upper and lower hoses, then fit the HPS hoses with the supplied stainless clamps. Refill with coolant and bleed the air out of the system before driving. HPS molds the hoses to the factory shape, so a home mechanic with basic tools and some cooling system experience can complete the swap.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L (2010-2011)

HPS’s Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L (2010-2011) covers the first two years of the V8 car, swapping its rubber upper and lower radiator hoses for molded silicone. HPS lists part number 57-1304 for these model years alone and builds each hose from three reinforced plies rated to 350F, with stainless steel embossed clamps in the box. The original hoses on these cars are now well over a decade old, and this kit renews them in black, blue or red.

Design and Performance

On a Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L that is stock or lightly modified, the 350F rating is far more than the cooling system will ask of it, so the value lies in replacing worn rubber with hoses built for long service under the hood. The kit fixes leaks and overheating that begin with a cracked or collapsed hose; it does not add cooling capacity, and a weak radiator or fan still needs its own repair.

Features

Molded upper and lower hoses that follow the factory routing
Clamps in 100% stainless steel, non-perforated and embossed so they will not cut the silicone
Built to meet or exceed OE specifications, per HPS
A direct answer to coolant leaks from cracked or damaged factory hoses
Choice of black, blue or red

Notes

Sold as one complete radiator hose kit for Chevrolet Camaro SS 6.2L cars
HPS lists this kit for the 2010-2011 SS only; the 2012-2015 SS and the V6 cars use different HPS kits
Heater hoses are not included
Per HPS, silicone coolant hose lets water through at 10 to 15 times the rate of EPDM rubber, so keep an eye on the reservoir

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
