Does the hose kit for ND MX-5 Miata models fit the RF?

Yes. HPS lists the RF in Club, Grand Touring, GS, GS-P, GT and 100th Anniversary Special Edition trims for 2017 to 2023, alongside the soft top from 2016 to 2023. Every listed car uses the 2.0L four-cylinder, so this hose kit for ND MX-5 Miata owners covers both body styles.

How many hoses are in the kit?

HPS supplies an eight-piece set that covers both the radiator hoses and the heater hoses on the ND MX-5 Miata, together with HPS stainless steel non-perforated embossed clamps. HPS describes the set as replacing all of the stock rubber radiator and heater hoses on the car. Coolant is not included.

Will silicone hoses make the coolant level drop?

Slowly, yes. HPS states that silicone hose has a water permeation rate 10 to 15 times greater than standard EPDM rubber hose, so a little water escapes through the hose walls over time. On an MX-5 Miata used every day, HPS recommends checking the coolant level regularly.

What are the hoses made from?

HPS uses high temperature multi-ply silicone reinforced with polyester, in a 3-ply construction rated to a maximum of 350F. HPS says the reinforcement reduces the risk of component failure and lets the hoses hold higher temperature and pressure, which is why the same design is offered for racing and daily driving.

Is installation straightforward?

Yes, for owners comfortable with cooling system work. HPS molds each hose with the correct bends and curves for the ND and says the kit is much easier to work with than universal hoses from a local parts store. Expect to drain the coolant, fit the hoses with the supplied clamps, then refill and bleed the system.

Description

HPS Silicone Radiator and Heater Hose Kit for ND Mazda MX-5 Miata 2.0L

HPS’s Silicone Radiator and Heater Hose Kit for ND Mazda MX-5 Miata 2.0L is an eight-piece set that replaces the factory rubber radiator and heater hoses on the 2016-2023 car, soft top and RF alike. HPS builds the hoses from multi-ply silicone reinforced with polyester, rates them to 350F and forms each one with the correct bends for the ND engine bay. Owners who track or autocross their MX-5, or who plan to keep one long enough for rubber to turn brittle, will get the most from it.

Design and Performance

Most ND cars are still young, so on a stock daily driver this kit is preventive rather than a repair. It makes more sense on a car that sees sustained heat on track, where the race inspired design and polyester reinforcement let the hoses hold higher temperature and pressure. It changes nothing about the radiator or thermostat, and HPS makes no claim of lower coolant temperatures.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
