The HPS Post-MAF Air Intake Tube Kit for Lexus IS250 and IS350 replaces the ribbed factory rubber tube between the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body with a 3-1/4 inch mandrel-bent aluminum tube. The stock piece is molded with corrugations and steps that break up airflow at the point the engine is most sensitive to it. Smooth aluminum walls hold a constant bore all the way to the throttle body, and the tube sheds underhood heat far better than rubber does. It bolts to the factory airbox and uses the panel filter already in the car, so the rest of the intake tract stays exactly as Lexus built it.

Construction

Mandrel bending holds the wall thickness and internal diameter constant through every curve, where press-bent tubing crushes and necks down at the bend. The aluminum will not soften, collapse, or split with age the way the factory rubber tube eventually does, and it pulls heat out of the charge instead of holding it in. Each tube is finished in black, blue, red, or polished and ships with high-temperature reinforced silicone couplers and stainless steel embossed clamps that seal without cutting into the silicone.
