HPS’s Silicone Intercooler Boot Kit for Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty and Excursion 7.3L trucks is a 4-ply, fluoro lined silicone replacement for the factory charge air cooler boots on the 7.3L Power Stroke. HPS rates it at 350F on the cold side and 500F on the hot side, where air leaves the turbo. HPS covers late 1999 through 2003 Super Duty pickups and the 2000-2003 Excursion, and the kit ships with heavy duty stainless spring loaded T-bolt clamps. On a 7.3L now more than twenty years old, fresh boots are a sensible guard against a connection letting go under boost.

Design and Performance

HPS builds each boot from four reinforced plies with a fluoro lining and heat and oil resistant silicone, and designs the set to withstand over 100 PSI of boost. HPS lists no power gains, and the kit will not make a 7.3L faster. Its job is to replace original boots that, by HPS’s account, weaken over time and fail early, so it earns its place on high-mileage trucks and on any 7.3L running more boost than stock.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
