HPS’s Hot Side Intercooler Charge Pipe Kit for Lexus IS, RC and GS 2.0L Turbo replaces the factory plastic hot side intercooler piping on the 8AR-FTS four-cylinder used in the IS200t, IS300, RC200t, RC300, GS200t and GS300. The 2.5 inch mandrel-bent aluminum tube has fewer bends than the stock part, and HPS measured gains of 6.6 whp and 9.1 lb-ft of torque without a re-tune. It suits an owner who wants the plastic out of the boost path and a ready-made port for a gauge later.

Design and Performance

HPS reverse engineered the original pipe and added a custom bracket that braces the connection, which HPS says other charge pipes lack. The measured gain is modest, so the better reasons to fit it are durability, the sharper throttle response HPS reports and the 1/8 inch NPT bung. It does not replace the intercooler or the cold side piping.
