HKS LEGAMAX Sports Exhaust for VB Subaru WRX

HKS’s LEGAMAX Sports Exhaust for VB Subaru WRX gives the FA24 turbo sedan a four-pipe SUS304 stainless system finished with four 98mm titanium tails, each baked by hand to a heat-colored gradation. HKS took the flow from a single 74.7mm pipe to twin 60.5mm and then four 45mm pipes, cutting exhaust resistance by about 70% while shaping a deep boxer note that turns dry and sporty under throttle. It is built for the owner who wants the car to look and sound special from every angle, lifted on a hoist as much as parked at the curb.

Development and Testing

HKS set out with three priorities for the VB system: performance, sound quality and appearance. A longer pipe run than usual calms muffled boom and lifts a sharper tone around 500Hz, while the expansion pipe, resonance pipe and silencers were tuned to keep the low boxer character. On the chassis dyno the LEGAMAX Sports Exhaust for VB cars gained about 6hp at peak and 14.5Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm with no other changes.
