Every set is laser-cut and mandrel-bent from thick-wall T304L stainless steel in-house at SOUL’s Willow Grove, PA facility, fixture-tested for perfect fitment, and backed by SOUL’s renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use. The result is a header that turns the 996 Turbo’s twin-turbo flat-six into something sharper, louder, and more alive across the entire rev range.

Development and Testing

The Headers for 996 Porsche 911 Turbo were built to maximize performance and boost response while minding ground clearance on daily-driven cars. The optimized 3-into-1 merge collector design improves response over the factory design, and the runners increase exhaust velocity into the collector and turbo. The factory header uses a support in the middle runner that disrupts a smooth flow path out of that exhaust port; the factory turbo inlet measures around 1.54in ID, and SOUL sized the header outlet to 1.63in for a smooth flow path into the turbo. The added internal volume and design improvements pair well with the turbo’s efficiency map for noticeably quicker boost response and more power throughout the RPM range, so each gear carries more usable power before a downshift. The factory header uses a double-wall design, while SOUL’s is single-wall for a sharper edge to the exhaust and increased turbo sound, with more burbles and sharper pops between shifts and on deceleration, all without inducing drone.

Construction

Each set is assembled in-house in the USA from laser-cut flanges and mandrel-bent, thick-wall .065in T304L stainless steel. Back-purged TIG welding with ARCAL Prime argon gas ensures proper weld penetration and longevity, and SOUL fabricates these headers using thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during welding and prevent warping of both the product and the fixtures themselves, ensuring perfect fitment. Every component is rigorously quality-checked, tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment, and then foam packed to arrive in perfect condition, with new high-grade hardware and OEM Porsche gaskets included for installation.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
