GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake for GR / GV Subaru WRX and STI, and SH Forester XT

The GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake for GR / GV Subaru WRX and STI, and SH Forester XT takes the place of the factory airbox on the EJ255 and EJ257, with a TIG-welded aluminum tube, 6061 MAF flange and riveted shield. One design covers the 2008-2014 WRX and STI and the 2009-2013 Forester XT. GrimmSpeed says it tunes as predictably as the stock box, but a tune is required, so a vehicle staying on the factory map should keep its airbox.

Development and Testing

GrimmSpeed’s studies of MAF placement showed that the velocity profile at the sensor decides reading accuracy, because the MAF samples air speed at the center of the tube. Dyno validation followed on its 2012 WRX, against the stock airbox and a rival intake.
