Why are the GiroDisc 380mm Front Rotors for B7 RS4 cars larger than stock?

GiroDisc sized them at 380mm against the 365mm factory disc to give more braking torque and more iron to absorb heat. The 380mm Front Rotors for B7 RS4 models still weigh less than the originals, and supplied spacers relocate the stock calipers to suit.

Are the caliper spacers included?

Yes. GiroDisc supplies the caliper spacers with this kit. They move the original RS4 front calipers outward so they line up with the larger 380mm ring, and they are the only addition needed beyond the rotors themselves to complete a standard installation.

How much lighter is the GiroDisc rotor on a B7 RS4?

GiroDisc lists about 22.6 lb for its front rotor against 25.5 lb for the factory unit, close to 3 lb per corner despite the larger diameter. The saving is in rotating and unsprung mass, which helps acceleration and suspension response.

Does the larger rotor change brake balance?

It adds front braking torque because the effective radius grows, which is the point of the upgrade. The original calipers and the ABS system remain in place, so the change is moderate and predictable compared with a complete big brake kit with new calipers.

Can the iron rings be replaced later?

The two-piece design is built for it: when the ring wears, it unbolts from the aluminum hat and a new one goes on with fresh hardware. Contact Bulletproof Automotive for the current ring part number for this front rotor before the first set wears out.

Description

GiroDisc 380mm Front Rotors for B7 Audi RS4 with Caliper Spacers

GiroDisc’s 380mm Front Rotors for B7 Audi RS4 step the front discs up from the factory 365mm to 380mm while cutting weight, from 25.5 lb for a stock rotor to about 22.6 lb for the GiroDisc assembly. Caliper spacers come in the box so the original calipers sit correctly over the larger ring. For a B7 owner who enjoys the high-revving V8 on track, it adds braking torque and cooling without the cost of a full big brake kit.

Bolt-On and Go

Fitting is the factory procedure plus the supplied spacers: the stock calipers move outward to suit the 380mm disc, and nothing is cut or machined. The ring floats on 12 cadmium-plated alloy steel drive pins held by class 12.9 cap screws, with spring washers that let it expand under heat yet stay quiet on a cold morning.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
