What does short outlet mean on this GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit?

Garrett lists two 1.24 A/R V-band GTX55 housings. Part 761208-0062 has a long outlet with cross bolts, while this GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit, part 761208-0064, does not, so it is sold as the short outlet version. Choose by the space and downpipe layout behind the turbocharger.

Is this housing SFI certified?

No. Turn 14 lists this housing as non-SFI. Garrett states that SFI super core and turbine options exist for the GTX5533R Gen II, so a build that must meet an SFI requirement should source one of those options rather than this part.

What material is the housing?

Turn 14 lists it as stainless steel. Garrett does not state the material on its GTX55 product pages, so the stainless description comes from the supplier listing. Confirm with Bulletproof Automotive if the material is critical to the build, for example where the housing will see long periods at high exhaust temperature.

Will this bolt to a T6 manifold?

No. It has a V-band inlet and needs a manifold or collector with a matching V-band flange. For a T6 manifold Garrett lists the 1.24 A/R T6 inlet GTX55 housing, part 761208-0025, which fits the same GTX55 Gen II cores.

Which cores does this housing fit?

Every GTX55 Gen II core on the Garrett table: five GTX5533R versions spanning 85mm to 98mm compressors and two GTX5544R versions at 102mm and 106mm. Earlier GT and GTX 5533 and 5544 super cores take it too, since all use the 112mm by 102mm turbine wheel.

Description

Garrett GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.24 A/R V-Band In and Out, Short Outlet

Garrett’s GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.24 A/R with V-band inlet and outlet is the short outlet version of the clamp-on GTX55 housing, the alternative to Garrett’s long outlet housing with cross bolts in the same size. It suits a GTX5533R or GTX5544R Gen II build on a fabricated manifold with a V-band collector, where packaging around the downpipe favors the shorter outlet. Turn 14 lists it as stainless steel and non-SFI, so a build that calls for an SFI-rated turbine housing needs one of the SFI options Garrett mentions instead. If your manifold ends in a T6 flange, part 761208-0025 is the same A/R.

Short Outlet or Long Outlet

Garrett lists four V-band inlet GTX55 housings. Parts 761208-0062 and -0063 have a long outlet with cross bolts; this part and 761208-0065 do not, which is why suppliers call them the short outlet versions. The A/R and free-float layout are otherwise the same across the pair.

Features

V-band inlet and V-band outlet, clockable at both joints
Short outlet without the cross-bolted long outlet of parts 761208-0062 and -0063
1.24 A/R, free float for an external wastegate
The GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit for V-band manifolds on GTX5533R and GTX5544R Gen II cores

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0064
A/R: 1.24
Turbine inlet and outlet: V-band and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Divided inlet: No
Turbine wheel: 112mm inducer, 102mm exducer

Applications

Garrett lists this GTX55 Turbine Housing Kit for these super cores:

Garrett GTX5533R Gen II super cores: 851285-5001S to 851285-5005S (85mm to 98mm)
Garrett GTX5544R Gen II super cores: 851285-5021S (102mm) and 851285-5022S (106mm)
Also interchangeable with: GT and GTX 5533 and 5544 super cores
Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L

Notes

Turbine housing only; the GTX55 Gen II super core is sold separately
An external wastegate is required, because the housing is free float
Listed by Turn 14 as non-SFI; the larger short outlet size is 1.40 A/R

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
