Which cores does the 1.08 A/R GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit fit?

Garrett lists the 1.08 A/R GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit for the GTX4709R Gen II in 76mm and 80mm and the GTX4720R Gen II in 76mm, 80mm and 88mm. Garrett also states it is interchangeable with GT and GTX 4708, 4709, 4718 and 4720 super cores.

Should I choose the 1.08 or 1.23 A/R?

Choose the 1.08 A/R when spool and response come first, on smaller engines or a narrower power band. The 1.23 A/R lowers backpressure for larger engines and high rpm. Both share the T6 inlet, V-band outlet and free-float layout, so the engine and target decide it.

Will my older GT4708 or GT4718 core accept this housing?

Yes. Garrett lists the GTX47 turbine kits as interchangeable with GT and GTX 4708, 4709, 4718 and 4720 super cores. That lets an owner keep the manifold and housing while moving to a GTX Gen II core with newer compressor aerodynamics.

Does the housing have an internal wastegate?

No. It is a free-float design, so boost control comes from an external wastegate mounted on the exhaust manifold. On a turbocharger of this frame size the wastegate must be sized to pass enough exhaust flow to hold the target boost at full load.

What power do the matching cores make?

Garrett rates the GTX4709R Gen II at 825 to 1625 horsepower and the GTX4720R Gen II at 1025 to 1950 horsepower, both calculated from compressor choke flow as potential flywheel horsepower. The 1.08 A/R housing favors response within those ranges rather than peak flow.

Description

Garrett GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.08 A/R T6 Inlet, Free Float

Garrett’s GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.08 A/R is the smaller of the two exhaust housings Garrett lists for its GTX4709R and GTX4720R Gen II super cores, with a T6 inlet flange, a V-band outlet and a free-float layout. It is the choice for engines toward the lower half of the 2.0L to 10.0L range Garrett gives these cores, or any build where getting a large-frame turbocharger into boost early matters. On a big engine aiming at the 1950 horsepower top of the GTX4720R rating, the 1.23 A/R will flow more freely and is the better fit.

Interchangeability

Garrett states the GTX47 turbine kits are interchangeable with GT and GTX 4708, 4709, 4718 and 4720 super cores, and that all Gen II GTX turbochargers accept existing GT and GTX turbine housings. An owner moving from an older GT47 core to a Gen II core can keep this housing.

Features

1.08 A/R, the quicker-spooling of the two GTX47 sizes
T6 inlet flange and V-band outlet, undivided entry
Free float, for boost control by an external wastegate
The GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit carries over from GT47 cores to GTX Gen II cores

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0010
A/R: 1.08
Turbine inlet and outlet: T6 and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Divided inlet: No
Turbine wheel: 93mm inducer, 84mm exducer

Applications

Garrett lists this GTX47 Turbine Housing Kit for these super cores:

Garrett GTX4709R Gen II super cores: 851285-5011S (76mm) and 851285-5012S (80mm)
Garrett GTX4720R Gen II super cores: 851285-5013S (76mm), 851285-5014S (80mm) and 851285-5015S (88mm)
Also interchangeable with: GT and GTX 4708, 4709, 4718 and 4720 super cores
Engine displacement: 2.0L to 10.0L

Notes

Turbine housing only; the GTX47 Gen II super core is sold separately
An external wastegate is required, because the housing has no internal wastegate
Garrett also offers this housing in 1.23 A/R

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
