Does the GTX3576R Gen II Super Core come with a turbine housing?

No. The GTX3576R Gen II Super Core includes the center section and the Gen II compressor housing. Garrett lists nine standard rotation GT35 turbine kits for it, with T3, T4 or V-band inlets in A/R sizes from 0.61 to 1.06, all free float, so an external wastegate is part of the plan.

How does the GTX3576R differ from the GTX3076R?

Both use a 58mm Gen II compressor and carry a 750 horsepower rating. The GTX3576R moves to the GT35 turbine, 68mm against 60mm, and Garrett lists it for 2.0L to 4.5L instead of 1.8L to 3.0L. The bigger turbine flows more exhaust on a larger engine, while the GTX3076R spools sooner on a small one.

What horsepower does Garrett quote for the GTX3576R Gen II?

Garrett quotes 400 to 750 horsepower on engines from 2.0L to 4.5L. Like every Garrett rating, it is calculated from compressor choke flow and stands for potential flywheel horsepower, so supporting parts and the calibration decide the outcome on a particular engine.

Will my existing GT35 turbine housing fit?

Yes, if it is a standard rotation GT35 housing. Garrett states all GTX Gen II turbochargers work with existing GT and GTX turbine housing kits, and it lists T3, T4 and V-band inlet GT35 housings for this core. Reverse rotation GT35 housings fit only the reverse rotation GTX3576R.

Is a speed sensor worth adding?

Yes. Garrett limits the GTX3576R Gen II to 145,000 rpm and says running faster is at the risk of the owner. The compressor housing already has a machined, plugged port for the Garrett sensor, so adding one is a simple way to make sure the tune keeps the turbocharger inside its map.

Description

Garrett GTX3576R Gen II Super Core, 58mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s GTX3576R Gen II Super Core pairs a 58mm Gen II compressor with the larger 68mm GT35 turbine, and Garrett rates it at 400 to 750 horsepower on engines from 2.0L to 4.5L. The bigger turbine is the point: it lets a 3.0L to 4.5L engine make power with less exhaust back pressure than a GT30 frame, at the price of slightly later boost. On a 2.0L it only makes sense near the top of the range. Engines needing more than 750 horsepower should step to the GTX3582R Gen II, which uses the same turbine housings.

GTX Gen II Updates

The Gen II compressor wheel was developed with Garrett’s computational fluid dynamics tools, and Garrett states the update supports up to 20 percent more horsepower than the earlier GTX3576R. A new high-flowing compressor housing has a fully machined inlet, outlet and ported shroud, plus a machined speed sensor port opened with a 5mm Allen key. The bearing is an 8mm dual ceramic ball cartridge.

Features

68mm GT35 turbine inducer for lower exhaust restriction on larger engines
Compatible with all existing GT and GTX turbine housing kits of the GT35 frame
Outline interchangeable with the Gen I GTX3576R, so existing piping carries over

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5862
Compressor inducer and exducer: 58mm and 76mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 68mm and 62mm
Bearing system: 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing
Maximum turbocharger speed: 145,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

Applications

The GTX3576R Gen II Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 4.5L
Power range: 400 to 750 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett GT35 free-float kits: T3 or T4 inlet in 0.63, 0.82 or 1.06 A/R; V-band inlet in 0.61, 0.83 or 1.01 A/R

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; every GT35 housing Garrett lists for this core is free float and needs an external wastegate
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 145,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
Turn 14 lists this part as replacing the earlier GTX3576R super core 836047-5001S

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
