What does the GTX3076R Gen II Super Core include?

It is the center housing rotating assembly with the Gen II compressor housing already fitted. This GTX3076R Gen II Super Core needs a GT30 turbine housing, which is sold separately, and Garrett lists free-float T3 and V-band inlet kits plus internally wastegated T3 kits for it.

How much power is the GTX3076R Gen II rated for?

Garrett rates it at 400 to 750 horsepower on engines from 1.8L to 3.0L. Garrett takes the figure from compressor choke flow, so it is a potential flywheel number. The upper end assumes an engine, fuel system and calibration built for that output, and a mild build will land lower.

Which turbine A/R works with a GTX3076R Gen II?

Garrett offers GT30 housings from 0.61 to 1.06 A/R. A 0.63 or 0.82 A/R housing helps a 2.0L build boost earlier, while 1.01 or 1.06 A/R favors top-end flow on a 3.0L or a high-revving engine. Compare the options on the Garrett flow charts before deciding.

Will Gen II parts swap with my Gen I GTX3076R?

The complete turbocharger is outline interchangeable with the Gen I GTX3076R, so piping and turbine housings carry over. Garrett notes that a Gen II compressor housing does not accept a Gen I compressor wheel, so treat the Gen II core as a complete replacement of the old center section.

What is the speed limit for this turbocharger?

Garrett lists a maximum allowable speed of 145,000 rpm for the GTX3076R Gen II and states that running above it is at the risk of the owner. A Garrett speed sensor fits the machined port in the compressor housing so the tuner can monitor shaft speed; the sensor kit is a separate purchase.

Description

Garrett GTX3076R Gen II Super Core, 58mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s GTX3076R Gen II Super Core takes the GT30 frame to a 58mm Gen II compressor inducer, rated by Garrett at 400 to 750 horsepower on engines from 1.8L to 3.0L. That is a lot of airflow for a small frame, so it belongs on a built four or six with the fuel system to match, typically a 2.0L to 3.0L engine targeting 500 to 650 horsepower. On a stock-internal engine capped near 400 horsepower the GTX3071R Gen II will spool sooner. Turn 14 lists this standard rotation core as the replacement for Garrett’s earlier GTX3076R super core.

Gen II Construction

Garrett redesigned the GTX compressor wheel using computational fluid dynamics and pairs it with a new high-flow compressor housing. The inlet, outlet and ported shroud are fully machined for tighter tolerances. The 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge reduces shaft motion, and Garrett credits the Gen II update with up to 20 percent more horsepower than the earlier version.

Features

58mm Gen II compressor inducer with a 76mm exducer
Speed sensor port machined into the compressor housing and supplied plugged
Bolts to all existing GT and GTX turbine housing kits of the GT30 frame

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5855
Compressor inducer and exducer: 58mm and 76mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Bearing system: 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing
Maximum turbocharger speed: 145,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

Applications

The GTX3076R Gen II Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 1.8L to 3.0L
Power range: 400 to 750 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett GT30 turbine kits: Free float with T3 or V-band inlet, 0.61 to 1.06 A/R, or internally wastegated T3 in 0.63, 0.82 or 1.06 A/R

Notes

The turbine housing is not included
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 145,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
Turn 14 lists this part as replacing the earlier GTX3076R super core 836042-5003S
A reverse rotation GTX3076R Gen II is also listed

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
