Does the GT3582R Ball Bearing CHRA include housings?

No. It is the center housing rotating assembly with the water cooled center housing, ball bearing system, shaft, 68mm turbine wheel and 61mm compressor wheel. Compressor and turbine housings are separate. Garrett offers the GT3582R super core with the compressor housing for builds starting from scratch.

What power is the GT3582R rated for?

Garrett rates the GT3582R at 400 to 675 horsepower on engines from 2.0L to 4.5L. That number is calculated from compressor choke flow and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so fuel, boost, intercooling, the turbine housing and the calibration decide the actual result.

Which turbine kits will fit?

Garrett lists GT35 free float kits in 0.61, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R with V-band inlets and 0.63, 0.82 and 1.06 A/R with T3 or T4 inlets, plus wastegated 5-bolt housings in 0.63 A/R T25 and 0.82 A/R T3. Free float housings need an external wastegate.

Will a GTX3582R turbine housing fit this core?

Yes. Garrett states that its GT35 turbine kits are interchangeable with GT, GTX Gen I and GTX Gen II 35 series supercores, so a turbine housing from a GTX3582R setup in matching rotation suits the GT3582R Ball Bearing CHRA. Compressor housings are a separate question and should be checked.

Is the GT3582R overkill for a 2.0L?

It depends on the target. Garrett lists 2.0L as the bottom of its range, and a built 2.0L aiming toward 600 horsepower is a fair match. For a 2.0L that will run nearer 400 horsepower, the GT3076R or GT2871R makes boost earlier and suits the engine better.

Description

Garrett GT3582R Ball Bearing CHRA

Garrett’s GT3582R Ball Bearing CHRA carries a 61mm compressor inducer and a 68mm turbine inducer in a water cooled ball bearing center housing, sold as the bare core without compressor or turbine housings. Garrett rates the GT3582R at 400 to 675 horsepower on 2.0L to 4.5L engines, so it belongs on a built four-cylinder chasing 600 horsepower, a 3.0L six, or a small V8 that needs a larger turbine than the GT30 frame offers. The bigger turbine costs some response against a GT3076R, which is the better choice for engines that will stay under 500 horsepower.

Housing Options

Garrett states that its GT35 turbine kits are interchangeable with GT, GTX Gen I and GTX Gen II 35 series supercores, and lists V-band, T3 and T4 inlet free float housings alongside wastegated T25 and T3 5-bolt housings. The wastegated assemblies are supplied without bolts, clamps or actuator.

Features

61mm compressor inducer and 82mm exducer, trim 56
68mm inducer, 62mm exducer turbine wheel, trim 84
Ball bearing center section with water cooling

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 61mm and 82mm
Compressor trim: 56
Turbine inducer and exducer: 68mm and 62mm
Turbine trim: 84
Bearing system: Ball bearing, water cooled

Applications

The GT3582R Ball Bearing CHRA is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 4.5L
Power range: 400 to 675 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett GT35 turbine kits: 0.61, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band and 0.63, 0.82 and 1.06 A/R T3 or T4 free float housings, plus a 0.63 A/R T25 and a 0.82 A/R T3 5-bolt wastegated housing

Notes

Compressor and turbine housings are not included; the GT3582R super core comes with the compressor housing
Garrett does not list this CHRA part number on its GT3582R page; match it to your turbocharger or confirm with Bulletproof Automotive
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett does not publish a maximum turbocharger speed for the GT3582R

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
