When is the 1.41 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit the right choice?

When the engine makes enough exhaust flow to spool a large turbine easily and power at high rpm is the goal. The 1.41 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit gives the least backpressure of the three sizes, which helps the larger G57 and GXR57 compressors reach their ratings.

Will the 1.41 A/R lag on my engine?

On a smaller or low-revving engine, yes. The large volute needs strong exhaust flow before the turbine reaches boost speed. Garrett lists the same cores with 1.09 and 1.25 A/R housings, and those will bring boost in sooner on an engine that cannot feed the 1.41.

What maximum speed applies to G57 cores?

Garrett lists 84,000 rpm for the G57-2000, G57-2350 and G57-2550, 74,500 rpm for the G57-2750 and G57-3000, and 75,000 rpm for the GXR57 cores. Running above the limit is at the risk of the owner, and Garrett sells a speed sensor kit to monitor shaft speed.

Does this housing have a divided inlet?

No. Garrett lists all three G57 housings as undivided, with a V-band inlet. They suit a single-entry manifold finished with a V-band collector, and Garrett does not list a divided G57 option for these cores. A twin-scroll manifold would lose its pulse separation at this housing, so plan a single-entry design.

Can I keep this housing if I change the compressor later?

Yes. Every G57 and GXR57 core Garrett lists uses the same 118mm by 112mm turbine wheel, so moving from a G57-2550 to a G57-3000, or across to a GXR57-98, leaves the turbine side unchanged. The 1.41 A/R housing and the manifold stay in place while the core is swapped.

Description

Garrett G57 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.41 A/R V-Band In and Out, Free Float

Garrett’s G57 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.41 A/R is the largest housing Garrett lists for its biggest G-Series turbine, a stainless free-float casting with V-band inlet and outlet. It is meant for engines that make enough exhaust flow to drive a G57 or GXR57 hard, typically with one of the larger compressor wheels, where turbine backpressure is the last thing holding power back. On a smaller engine it will spool late and lose response, so builders near the 3.0L end of Garrett’s range should look at the 1.09 or 1.25 A/R instead.

Built for Flow

The 1.41 A/R volute slows the exhaust entering the 118mm turbine wheel, lowering backpressure at high engine speed. Garrett’s top ratings in the family, up to 3000 horsepower for the G57-3000 and 2900 for the GXR57-98, are calculated from compressor choke flow as potential flywheel horsepower, and the large housing lets the turbine side keep up.

Features

Largest of three G57 A/R sizes, for the lowest exhaust backpressure
V-band inlet and outlet, clockable to suit the manifold
Free-float stainless steel casting
The G57 Turbine Housing Kit for big engines running the larger G57 and GXR57 compressors

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0085
A/R: 1.41
Turbine inlet and outlet: V-band and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Turbine wheel: 118mm inducer, 112mm exducer
Material: Stainless steel

Applications

Garrett lists this G57 Turbine Housing Kit for these super cores:

Garrett G-Series G57 super cores: G57-2000, G57-2350, G57-2550, G57-2750 and G57-3000
Garrett G-XRace GXR57 super cores: GXR57-88, GXR57-94 and GXR57-98
Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L
Power ratings of those cores: 1200 to 3000 horsepower (Garrett rating)

Notes

The G57 super core is a separate purchase
Requires an external wastegate; the housing has no internal wastegate
Smaller sizes for quicker spool: 1.09 A/R and 1.25 A/R

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
