Which cores take the 1.09 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit?

Garrett lists the 1.09 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit for the five G-Series G57 cores, G57-2000 through G57-3000, and the three G-XRace cores, GXR57-88, GXR57-94 and GXR57-98. They all share the 118mm inducer, 112mm exducer turbine wheel that this housing surrounds.

Why pick the smallest G57 housing?

To bring boost in earlier. The G57 turbine is large, and the 1.09 A/R volute speeds up the exhaust feeding it so the turbocharger comes to life at lower engine speed. It suits smaller engines in the range or builds where response matters more than the last step of peak flow.

Does the G57 housing use a T6 inlet?

No. Garrett lists all three G57 housings with V-band inlets and V-band outlets. A manifold for this housing needs a V-band collector flange, and no T6 inlet G57 option appears in the range Garrett publishes for these cores. Builders reusing a T6 manifold from a smaller turbocharger will need a new collector.

Is an external wastegate needed?

Yes. Garrett lists the G57 housings as free float, so there is no wastegate inside the housing. Boost is held by an external wastegate on the manifold, and on engines that feed a turbocharger this size the gate needs a large valve to keep boost in check.

What is the G57 housing made from?

It is stainless steel. Garrett states that the G57 turbine kits are stainless and sold individually, which lets the builder pick the A/R after choosing the compressor. Stainless keeps its shape under sustained heat better than cast iron, helping the V-band joints keep sealing.

Description

Garrett G57 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.09 A/R V-Band In and Out, Free Float

Garrett’s G57 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.09 A/R is the most responsive of the three exhaust housings Garrett lists for its G57 and G-XRace GXR57 super cores, a stainless free-float housing with V-band joints at the inlet and outlet. The G57 is Garrett’s biggest turbine in this family, and the 1.09 A/R is what keeps it from feeling lazy, so it suits engines toward the smaller end of the 3.0L to 12.0L range or builds that value boost onset. It is not the housing for an engine already flowing enough to push a G57-3000 to the top of its rating; the 1.41 A/R exists for that.

The G57 Turbine

G57 cores use a 118mm inducer, 112mm exducer turbine wheel, and Garrett states it flows 28 percent more than the GTX turbine. That extra capacity is why Garrett offers three housings rather than one: the A/R tunes how early that large wheel comes to life.

Features

Smallest of three G57 A/R sizes, for the earliest boost from the 118mm turbine
V-band inlet and V-band outlet, clockable at both joints
Free-float casting with no internal wastegate
The G57 Turbine Housing Kit fits every G57 and GXR57 core Garrett lists

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
