Is the G57-3000 Super Core the most powerful G57?

Yes. Garrett rates the G57-3000 Super Core at up to 3000 horsepower, the top of the G57 range, using a 106mm compressor inducer on the 118mm turbine. The rating is calculated from compressor choke flow and represents potential flywheel horsepower, not a guaranteed dyno figure.

What is the compressor exducer on the G57-3000?

Garrett publishes two numbers. The feature list on the product page says 133mm, while the reference table for part 880547-5030S says 144mm, matching the 102mm G57-2750. This listing follows the table, so confirm with the Garrett flange diagram if the exact outlet dimension matters for packaging.

How does it compare with the G55-2900?

Both use a 106mm compressor inducer in a 0.96 A/R housing with a 74,500 rpm limit. The G57-3000 adds the 118mm G57 turbine against 112mm on the G55, lifts the rating to 3000 horsepower and starts its range at 1400. The G55 also offers T6 inlet turbine kits, while the G57 is V-band only.

What speed limit applies to the G57-3000?

Garrett lists 74,500 rpm as the maximum allowable turbocharger speed. Use above it is at the risk of the owner and can cause damage and premature failure. With a compressor this large, a speed sensor in the compressor housing is the practical way to keep shaft speed in check during tuning.

What else is needed to run this core?

A G57 turbine kit in 1.09, 1.25 or 1.41 A/R, an external wastegate, an oil feed with a restrictor and a drain, and a calibration. Garrett recommends 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed. No coolant lines are needed because the center housing is air cooled.

Description

Garrett G57-3000 Super Core, 106mm Inducer 0.96 A/R Compressor Housing

Garrett’s G57-3000 Super Core is the highest-rated core in the G55 and G57 families, a 106mm inducer with a 144mm exducer in Garrett’s reference table, in a 0.96 A/R housing over the 118mm G57 turbine. Garrett rates it at 1400 to 3000 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. It is built for the largest engines moving enormous airflow, and it is the wrong part for any engine that will not make well over 2000 horsepower.

Turbine and Center Housing

Garrett states the newly engineered G57 turbine wheel flows up to 28 percent more than GTX. The air-cooled center housing is one piece of aluminum to reduce super core weight, with a 16mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge and steel cages.

Features

106mm compressor inducer, the largest of the five G57 sizes
Outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers
Stainless steel V-band turbine kits sold individually in 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 106mm and 144mm
Compressor housing A/R: 0.96
Turbine inducer and exducer: 118mm and 112mm
Turbine trim: 90
Bearing system: 16mm ceramic dual ball bearing, steel cages
Maximum turbocharger speed: 74,500 rpm

Applications

The G57-3000 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L
Power range: 1400 to 3000 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G57 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R free float, V-band inlet and outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G57 turbine housing kits separately
All three G57 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
Garrett recommends a -3AN or -4AN oil feed, a restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice in most cases, and 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 74,500 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
