What does the G57-2350 Super Core gain over the G57-2000?

Compressor capacity. The G57-2350 Super Core moves from an 88mm to a 94mm inducer and from a 0.88 to a 0.96 A/R compressor housing, with the same 118mm turbine. Garrett lifts the rating from 2000 to 2350 horsepower, and both cores share the 84,000 rpm limit.

How much horsepower is the G57-2350 rated for?

Garrett rates it at 1400 to 2350 horsepower on engines from 3.0L to 12.0L. The figure is based on compressor choke flow and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the turbine A/R, fuel system, boost pressure and calibration decide the final number on a particular engine.

Which turbine A/R suits the G57-2350?

Garrett offers 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R, all V-band in and out. The 1.09 suits the smaller end of the 3.0L to 12.0L range and earlier boost, while the 1.41 suits the largest engines and the highest rpm. Every G57 kit is free float and needs an external wastegate.

Will the G57-2350 replace a GTX turbocharger?

Yes, in outline. Garrett states the G57 is outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers. The turbine side uses the G57 V-band kits rather than a GTX housing, so the manifold flange and downpipe should be checked against the Garrett flange diagram before the swap.

What is the max speed of the G57-2350?

Garrett lists 84,000 rpm. Running above that limit is at the risk of the owner and can lead to damage and premature failure. A speed sensor fitted to the compressor housing reads shaft speed directly and lets the tuner keep the core inside the limit, and the sensor kit is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G57-2350 Super Core, 94mm Inducer 0.96 A/R Compressor Housing

Garrett’s G57-2350 Super Core uses a 94mm inducer, 133mm exducer compressor in a 0.96 A/R housing over the 118mm G-Series G57 turbine, rated by Garrett at 1400 to 2350 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. Compared with the 88mm G57-2000 it adds compressor capacity while keeping the same turbine and 84,000 rpm limit. It suits a large engine heading past 2000 horsepower; for a target nearer 1500, the G57 floor of 1400 horsepower suggests looking at a G55 instead.

Design

The G57 turbine wheel uses optimized G-Series aerodynamics that Garrett credits with up to 28 percent more flow than GTX. The center housing is a one-piece aluminum part that reduces super core weight, it is air cooled, and the shaft runs on a 16mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge with steel cages.

Features

94mm by 133mm compressor wheel in a 0.96 A/R housing
Outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers
Three stainless steel V-band turbine housings offered in 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 94mm and 133mm
Compressor housing A/R: 0.96
Turbine inducer and exducer: 118mm and 112mm
Turbine trim: 90
Bearing system: 16mm ceramic dual ball bearing, steel cages
Maximum turbocharger speed: 84,000 rpm

Applications

The G57-2350 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L
Power range: 1400 to 2350 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G57 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R free float, V-band inlet and outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G57 turbine housing kits separately
All three G57 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
Garrett recommends a -3AN or -4AN oil feed, a restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice in most cases, and 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 84,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
