How is the G57-2000 Super Core different from the G55-1950?

Both use an 88mm by 133mm compressor in a 0.88 A/R housing. The G57-2000 Super Core moves to a 118mm by 112mm turbine against 112mm by 106mm on the G55, and Garrett credits the G57 turbine with up to 28 percent more flow than GTX. The G57 rating starts at 1400 horsepower.

What power range does Garrett give for the G57-2000?

Garrett gives 1400 to 2000 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. Garrett calculates it from the choke flow of the compressor map, which means it represents potential flywheel horsepower. The turbine housing, fuel, boost and calibration decide where in that range a particular engine finishes.

Which turbine housings fit the G57?

Garrett offers three stainless steel G57 kits, all with a V-band inlet and outlet and a free-float layout, in 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R. There is no T6 inlet option on the G57, so the manifold needs a V-band flange and an external wastegate.

Is the G57-2000 water cooled?

No. Garrett states the G57 center housing is air cooled, so no coolant lines are needed. The oil supply still matters: Garrett recommends a -3AN or -4AN feed, a restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice in most cases, and 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed.

What is the speed limit of the G57-2000?

The maximum allowable turbocharger speed Garrett publishes for this core is 84,000 rpm. Running above it is at the risk of the owner and can cause damage and premature failure. Garrett suggests a speed sensor installed in the compressor housing to monitor shaft speed, and the kit is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G57-2000 Super Core, 88mm Inducer 0.88 A/R Compressor Housing

Garrett’s G57-2000 Super Core pairs an 88mm inducer, 133mm exducer compressor in a 0.88 A/R housing with the large 118mm by 112mm G57 turbine wheel. Garrett rates it at 1400 to 2000 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. Its rating starts at 1400 horsepower, so it is a turbine-led choice for large engines that make a lot of exhaust flow; an engine with the same 2000 horsepower goal and less exhaust is a better match for the G55-1950 with the same compressor.

Turbine and Center Housing

Garrett states the G57 turbine wheel flows up to 28 percent more than GTX, and offers it with three stainless steel V-band turbine housings. The one-piece aluminum center housing is air cooled and carries a 16mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge with steel cages.

Features

118mm G-Series turbine wheel, larger than the 112mm G55 turbine
Smallest of the five G57 inducer sizes, which run from 88mm to 106mm
Outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 88mm and 133mm
Compressor housing A/R: 0.88
Turbine inducer and exducer: 118mm and 112mm
Turbine trim: 90
Bearing system: 16mm ceramic dual ball bearing, steel cages
Maximum turbocharger speed: 84,000 rpm

Applications

The G57-2000 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L
Power range: 1400 to 2000 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G57 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R free float, V-band inlet and outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G57 turbine housing kits separately
All three G57 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
Garrett recommends a -3AN or -4AN oil feed, a restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice in most cases, and 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 84,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
