Is the 1.39 A/R G47 Turbine Housing Kit only for very large engines?

Mostly. The 1.39 A/R G47 Turbine Housing Kit is the biggest G47 size and suits engines toward 10.0L or builds that run high in the rev range with the largest compressors. A smaller engine can run it, but boost will arrive noticeably later than with the 1.23.

What is the most powerful core it fits?

The G47-1850, super core 880547-5026S, with an 88mm compressor inducer and a 120mm exducer. Garrett rates it at 975 to 1850 horsepower on 2.5L to 10.0L engines, a figure calculated from compressor choke flow that represents potential flywheel horsepower. Reaching it needs a large engine and this housing size.

Is this housing divided?

No. Garrett lists all four G47 turbine housings with an undivided T6 inlet, so the manifold should end in a single T6 flange. The outlet is a V-band joint, and the housing is free float, which means boost control comes from an external wastegate.

Will this housing fit a GXR47 with the 123mm exducer?

Yes. Garrett lists this housing for both GXR47-76 and GXR47-80 cores with the 123mm compressor exducer, parts 953234-5006S and 953234-5007S, as well as the 116mm versions. The compressor exducer does not change the turbine side, so every GXR47 version shares the 93mm by 88mm turbine wheel this housing surrounds.

Do I need a speed sensor?

Garrett notes that a speed sensor can be installed in the compressor housing to protect the turbocharger from overspeed. It sets the limit at 93,000 rpm for the G47-1850 and the 120mm exducer G47-1650, and 102,500 rpm for the other cores this housing fits. The sensor is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G47 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.39 A/R T6 Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G47 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.39 A/R is the largest housing Garrett makes for the G47 frame, cast in stainless steel with a T6 inlet, a V-band outlet and no internal wastegate. It is meant for the top of the range: engines near 10.0L, high rpm, and the big-compressor cores such as the G47-1850 and GXR47-80. Those builds need every bit of exhaust flow, and this housing provides the most. Boost arrives later than with any other G47 size, so it is the wrong pick for a smaller engine or a build that values low-rpm torque.

Choosing the largest A/R

A larger A/R lowers exhaust velocity at the turbine and reduces backpressure. At 1.39 this housing gives the 93mm G47 turbine wheel the most room to flow, at the cost of a later boost threshold than the 0.96, 1.08 or 1.23 sizes.

Features

Largest A/R in the G47 Turbine Housing Kit range
T6 inlet flange and V-band outlet
Free-float design for an external wastegate

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0078
A/R: 1.39
Turbine inlet and outlet: T6 and V-band
Divided inlet: No
Wastegate: External (free float)
Material: Stainless steel
Matching turbine wheel: 93mm inducer and 88mm exducer

Applications

Garrett lists this G47 Turbine Housing Kit for:

Garrett G47-1550: 880547-5023S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 109mm exducer: 880547-5024S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 120mm exducer: 880547-5025S super core
Garrett G47-1850: 880547-5026S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 116mm exducer: 953234-5001S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 123mm exducer: 953234-5006S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 116mm exducer: 953234-5004S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 123mm exducer: 953234-5007S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G47 or GXR47 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed of 102,500 rpm for most G47 and GXR47 cores and 93,000 rpm for the G47-1650 with 120mm exducer and the G47-1850; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Smaller sizes are listed under G47 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
