Which cores fit the G47 Turbine Housing Kit?

Garrett lists this 0.96 A/R G47 Turbine Housing Kit for eight super cores: the G47-1550, both G47-1650 versions and the G47-1850, plus the G-XRace GXR47-76 and GXR47-80, each with a 116mm or 123mm compressor exducer. All of them use a 93mm by 88mm turbine wheel.

Does this housing have a V-band inlet?

No. Garrett lists a T6 inlet flange and a V-band outlet for all four G47 housings. Some distributor descriptions read as V-band in and out, but the Garrett reference table is the authority, so the manifold needs a T6 flange to accept this housing.

Is the 0.96 A/R the right G47 size for my engine?

It is the response pick. Of the 0.96, 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R G47 housings, the 0.96 builds boost earliest and suits the smaller engines in the 2.5L to 10.0L range Garrett quotes. Large engines aimed at peak power usually choose 1.23 or 1.39.

Do I need an external wastegate?

Yes. Garrett lists every G47 turbine kit as free float, so the housing has no internal wastegate port, flapper or actuator. Boost is held by an external wastegate on the exhaust manifold, which is bought separately and should be sized for the boost and exhaust flow of the engine.

What power do the G47 cores support?

Garrett rates the G47-1550 to 1550 horsepower, the G47-1650 versions to 1650, the GXR47-76 to 1700, the GXR47-80 to 1800 and the G47-1850 to 1850. Garrett calculates these from compressor choke flow, so they represent potential flywheel horsepower rather than a guaranteed result.

Description

Garrett G47 Turbine Housing Kit, 0.96 A/R T6 Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G47 Turbine Housing Kit in 0.96 A/R is the smallest of four exhaust housings for Garrett’s G47 frame, a stainless steel casting with an undivided T6 inlet, a V-band outlet and no internal wastegate. Garrett lists it for eight cores, the G47-1550 through G47-1850 and four G-XRace GXR47 versions, rated up to 1850 horsepower on 2.5L to 10.0L engines. On a frame this large the 0.96 is the response housing, best suited to the smaller end of that displacement range. A big-inch V8 aiming at the GXR47-80 rating will want more exhaust flow.

Construction

Garrett casts the G47 housings in stainless steel with a T6 inlet flange, and shortened the outlet length by 17mm compared with the GTX version to cut weight. The housing surrounds a G-Series turbine wheel with a 93mm inducer and 88mm exducer.

Features

Undivided T6 inlet and V-band outlet
Free-float layout for external wastegate control
Smallest of four A/R sizes in the G47 Turbine Housing Kit range
Outlet length 17mm shorter than the GTX T6 housing, which Garrett did to save weight

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0075
A/R: 0.96
Turbine inlet and outlet: T6 and V-band
Divided inlet: No
Wastegate: External (free float)
Material: Stainless steel
Matching turbine wheel: 93mm inducer and 88mm exducer

Applications

Garrett lists this G47 Turbine Housing Kit for these super cores:

Garrett G47-1550: 880547-5023S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 109mm exducer: 880547-5024S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 120mm exducer: 880547-5025S super core
Garrett G47-1850: 880547-5026S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 116mm exducer: 953234-5001S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 123mm exducer: 953234-5006S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 116mm exducer: 953234-5004S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 123mm exducer: 953234-5007S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G47 or GXR47 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed of 102,500 rpm for most G47 and GXR47 cores and 93,000 rpm for the G47-1650 with 120mm exducer and the G47-1850; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Garrett also offers 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R versions
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
