What does the C mean in G42-1325C G-Series II Super Core?

It marks the compact compressor housing. Garrett offers the G42-1325 with either housing, and the compact one is aimed at installations where space around the compressor is limited. The compressor wheel, turbine wheel and the rating of up to 1325 horsepower are shared, so performance does not change between the two.

Will my G42-1200 Compact turbine housing bolt to this core?

Yes. Garrett states that G-Series II reuses the Gen I compressor and turbine housings, so the G42 turbine kit already on a G42-1200 Compact carries over. The upgrade is a center section swap followed by a calibration that lets the engine use the extra compressor flow.

How much horsepower is the G42-1325C rated for?

Up to 1325 horsepower on 2.0L to 7.0L engines, according to Garrett. That rating comes from the choke flow on the compressor map and stands for potential flywheel horsepower. Fuel delivery, intercooling, boost and the calibration decide how close a given engine gets to it.

What else do I need to install it?

A G42 turbine kit, an external wastegate, oil feed and drain lines, and water lines for the supplied fittings. The G42-1325C G-Series II Super Core also needs a calibration, since Garrett states the extra compressor flow only becomes power once the engine is tuned for it.

Should I add a speed sensor?

Garrett advises it. The maximum allowable speed for this core is 120,000 rpm, and running beyond it is at the risk of the owner. The compressor housing accepts a speed sensor that reads shaft speed directly, which gives the tuner a hard number for keeping the turbocharger inside its limits.

Description

Garrett G42-1325C G-Series II Super Core, Compact Compressor Housing

Garrett’s G42-1325C G-Series II Super Core is the compact-housing version of the G42-1325, built for engine bays where a full-size compressor housing will not clear. Underneath is the same second-generation 73mm compressor stage, which Garrett credits with up to 10 percent more flow than Gen I at peak pressure ratio and peak speed, and the same rating of up to 1325 horsepower on 2.0L to 7.0L. It is the natural upgrade for an owner already running a G42-1200 Compact; a builder with room to spare gains no power from it over the standard G42-1325.

Center Housing and Turbine

Garrett moved G-Series II to a one-piece center housing and backplate, which reduces failure points, and shortened the bearing cartridge to fit twin piston rings at both ends of the shaft. The turbine wheel is Inconel with new G-Series aerodynamics, quoted by Garrett at 15 to 20 percent more flow than GTX and up to 74 percent peak efficiency.

Features

Compact compressor housing for tight packaging around the inlet and outlet
Direct CHRA-level upgrade path from a first-generation G42-1200 Compact
Increased efficiency at high flow rates, per Garrett

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 73mm and 91mm
Compressor trim: 65
Compressor housing A/R: 0.90
Turbine inducer and exducer: 82mm and 75mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum turbocharger speed: 120,000 rpm

What’s Included

G42-1325C G-Series II super core with compact compressor housing fitted
Water fittings

Applications

The G42-1325C G-Series II Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 7.0L
Power range: Up to 1325 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G42 1.01, 1.15 and 1.28 A/R free float, each with a V-band inlet or a T4 divided inlet and a V-band outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G42 turbine housing kits separately
All six G42 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 120,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure
The engine must be recalibrated before the added compressor flow becomes extra power
The matching G42-1325C CHRA is sold for owners who keep their compact compressor housing

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
