Should I choose the 1.19 A/R G40 Turbine Housing Kit for a 6.0L V8?

Often, yes. The 1.19 A/R G40 Turbine Housing Kit is the largest G40 size, and a 6.0L engine produces enough exhaust flow to spool it while gaining from the lower backpressure. Builders who want stronger midrange should compare it with the 1.06 A/R on the Garrett turbine flow chart.

Is there a twin-scroll version in this size?

Yes. Garrett offers 1.19 A/R G40 housings with either a V-band inlet, this part, or a divided T4 inlet, part 757707-0035. Choose by manifold: a single V-band collector takes this housing, and a divided T4 flange takes the twin-scroll version.

What power can a G40 make with a large housing?

The ceiling depends on the core. Garrett rates the G40-1250 at up to 1250 horsepower, the G40-1150 and GXR40-64 at up to 1150, the G40-1000 at 1000 and the G40-900 at 900. These are potential flywheel figures derived from compressor choke flow.

Is the super core included?

No. This is the turbine housing kit only. The super core, made up of the center housing, rotating assembly and compressor housing, is sold separately, so the owner can choose between the G40-900, G40-1000, G40-1150, G40-1250 and GXR40-64 and pair it with this large housing.

What maximum shaft speed applies?

Garrett gives 125,000 rpm for the G40 and G-Series II G40 cores and 109,000 rpm for the GXR40-64, and warns that exceeding the limit is at the risk of the owner. A speed sensor fitted to the compressor housing is the reliable way to confirm the limit is respected.

Description

Garrett G40 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.19 A/R V-Band Inlet and Outlet

Garrett’s G40 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.19 A/R is the largest single-scroll G40 housing, stainless steel with V-band joints at both ends and an external wastegate layout. It completes any of the five G40 super cores Garrett lists and is meant for engines that will use all of that flow: displacement near 6.0L, high rpm, and a G40-1250 or GXR40-64 pushed hard. Boost comes in later than with any other G40 housing, so a smaller engine or a road car that rarely sees redline is better served by the 0.95 or 1.06 A/R.

Features

Largest V-band size in the G40 Turbine Housing Kit range
Clamped V-band inlet and outlet
No internal wastegate; an external gate controls boost

Specifications

Garrett part number: 757707-0030
A/R: 1.19
Turbine inlet and outlet: V-band and V-band
Divided inlet: No
Wastegate: External (free float)
Material: Stainless steel
Matching turbine wheel: 77mm inducer and 70mm exducer

Applications

Garrett lists this G40 Turbine Housing Kit for the following cores:

Garrett G40-900: 860777-5003S super core
Garrett G40-1000 G-Series II: 938272-5001S super core, 938271-5001S CHRA
Garrett G40-1150: 860777-5002S super core
Garrett G40-1250 G-Series II: 938272-5002S super core, 938271-5002S CHRA
Garrett GXR40-64 G-XRace: 934173-5005S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G40 super core is sold separately
Garrett sets the maximum turbocharger speed at 125,000 rpm for the G40 and G-Series II G40 cores and 109,000 rpm for the GXR40-64; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Smaller sizes and divided T4 versions are listed under G40 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
