Is the 1.01 A/R G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing suited to a V8?

Yes, for a large single-turbo V8 running a G35-1050 or G35-990 toward its rating. The 1.01 A/R G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing keeps back pressure down at high flow while keeping boost control on the turbocharger. Engines under about 4.0L usually respond better with the 0.83 A/R version.

Which assembled Garrett turbochargers use this layout?

Garrett builds 1.01 A/R internally gated G35 turbochargers as part numbers 880707-5003S on the G35-900, 880707-5006S on the G35-1050 and 934124-5002S on the G-Series II G35-990, all assembled and calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator. This housing kit suits owners building their own from a super core.

Will an internal wastegate cope with G35-1050 power?

Garrett states that its internally gated G-Series housings use the largest possible wastegate port, designed to reduce boost creep and give better boost control. At the top of the G35-1050 range, the boost target, actuator spring and exhaust flow all affect the result, so careful setup still matters.

Does it work with a reverse rotation G35?

No. Garrett offers this housing for standard-rotation G35 cores only, and there is no internally gated reverse G35 housing. Reverse-rotation G35 cores run free-float housings with external wastegates, which Garrett lists from 0.61 to 1.21 A/R with T3 or V-band inlets.

What is included with the housing?

Garrett does not list the contents of its turbine kits, including whether a wastegate actuator is supplied. The 0.5 bar actuator note on the Garrett pages applies to the assembled turbocharger part numbers. Contact Bulletproof Automotive before ordering and we will confirm what ships.

Description

Garrett G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing, 1.01 A/R V-Band

Garrett’s G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing at 1.01 A/R is the high-flow internally gated housing for standard-rotation G35 cores, cast in stainless steel with V-band connections at the inlet and outlet. Garrett lists part 740902-0111 for the G35-900, the G35-1050 and the G-Series II G35-990, the layout used on its assembled 1.01 A/R G35 turbochargers. It is the internally gated choice for a large single-turbo engine, a 4.5L to 5.5L V8 for example, pushing a G35-1050 toward its rating. A smaller engine wanting response belongs on the 0.83 A/R.

Large Single-Turbo Engines

At the power a G35-1050 can support, exhaust back pressure and boost creep both need attention. The 1.01 A/R volute eases back pressure, and Garrett’s maximum-size internal wastegate port gives the exhaust a large path around the turbine when boost is at target. The stainless housing carries Garrett’s 1050C (1922F) rating.

Features

1.01 A/R for high exhaust flow
Built-in wastegate port sized by Garrett to limit boost creep
V-band connections at both ends
Shared by G35 and G-Series II G35 cores

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
