Which cores fit the G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing?

Garrett lists three standard-rotation super cores for it: the G35-900, the G35-1050 and the G-Series II G35-990. The same layout appears on its assembled 0.83 A/R G35 turbochargers, part numbers 880707-5002S, 880707-5005S and 934124-5001S, so the G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing matches what Garrett itself builds.

Why choose an internal wastegate on a turbocharger this size?

It keeps the installation simpler. With the wastegate in the housing, the manifold needs no external gate flange or separate dump pipe, which helps in a crowded engine bay. Garrett sized the port as large as possible to keep boost creep under control at the high exhaust flow a G35 handles.

Will 0.83 A/R spool a G35 on my engine?

On engines of roughly 3.0L to 4.5L, it is a sensible balance. The G35 turbine wheel is large, so smaller engines will notice later boost onset, and very large engines chasing the G35-1050 rating usually prefer the 1.01 A/R internally gated housing, part 740902-0111.

Can I use it on a reverse rotation G35?

No. Garrett lists this housing for standard-rotation G35 cores only and offers no internally gated reverse G35 housing. A twin-turbo G35 build with one reverse unit must use free-float housings and external wastegates on both banks, which also keeps the two sides matched.

Is a speed sensor needed?

Garrett suggests one to guard against overspeed. The limit comes from the core: 145,000 rpm for the G35-900, 140,000 rpm for the G35-990 and 130,000 rpm for the G35-1050. A sensor installs in the compressor housing and is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing, 0.83 A/R V-Band

Garrett’s G35 Wastegate Turbine Housing in 0.83 A/R gives a standard-rotation G35 its own boost control, an internally gated stainless housing with V-band inlet and outlet. Garrett lists part 740902-0110 for the G35-900, G35-1050 and G-Series II G35-990, and uses the same layout on its assembled 0.83 A/R G35 turbochargers. It suits a single-turbo build of roughly 3.0L to 4.5L that wants G35 power without plumbing an external wastegate. On a twin-turbo engine it is not an option, because Garrett offers no internally gated reverse G35 housing.

Big Frame, Simple Plumbing

An internal wastegate removes the external gate, its flange and its dump pipe from the manifold design, which simplifies a single G35 installation. Garrett designs these housings with the largest possible wastegate port to reduce boost creep. The G35 turbine wheel inside, 68mm by 62mm in Mar-M alloy, shares the 1050C (1922F) rating of the stainless housing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
