When is a 1.01 A/R reverse G35 Turbine Housing Kit the right choice?

When a large twin-turbo engine on T3 manifolds is built for very high output and each G35 needs top-end flow more than early boost. The 1.01 A/R reverse G35 Turbine Housing Kit mirrors part 740902-0107 on the standard bank. Smaller twin-turbo engines suit the 0.83 A/R reverse housing better.

Can a standard rotation G35 use this housing?

No. Its volute is shaped for a turbine wheel spinning in reverse, and Garrett lists it only for reverse-rotation G35 super cores. A standard G35 on a T3 manifold needs part 740902-0107, the same A/R and flange layout in standard rotation, which is also the housing to run on the opposite bank.

How is boost controlled on a twin G35 setup with these housings?

With external wastegates, because both the standard and the reverse T3 housings are free float with no wastegate port. Most twin-turbo manifolds carry a gate per bank. Size the gates for the boost target and the exhaust flow of the full engine.

Will my twin T3 manifolds clear two G35 turbochargers?

Garrett does not publish clearance data for twin installations. The G35 is a larger frame than the G30, so check space around both banks, the downpipe routes and the intake plumbing against the Garrett drawings and flange diagram before ordering. A T3 flange alone does not guarantee physical fit.

What is the difference between a G35 and a G30 housing?

Turbine wheel size. The G35 uses a 68mm inducer and 62mm exducer wheel, while the G30 uses 60mm and 55mm, so Garrett lists separate housings for each frame. This part fits reverse G35 cores only and will not fit a reverse G30.

Description

Garrett G35 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.01 A/R T3 Free Float Reverse Rotation

Garrett’s G35 Turbine Housing Kit for reverse rotation, 1.01 A/R with a T3 inlet, is the high-flow T3 housing for reverse-spinning G35 cores, free float with a V-band outlet. Garrett lists part 740902-0117 for the reverse G35-900 and G35-1050 and the G-Series II G35-990. Its natural home is the second bank of a big twin-turbo V8 on T3 manifolds, built for outputs where each G35 runs close to its rating, opposite standard part 740902-0107. For a twin setup that values early boost over outright flow, the 0.83 A/R reverse T3 housing is the better pick.

High Output Twins

With two G35 cores sharing the exhaust of a large engine, each can still spool a 1.01 A/R volute, and the larger passage keeps back pressure down at full load. The reverse volute mirrors the standard turbocharger on the other bank. External wastegates handle boost, and the stainless casting is rated by Garrett to 1050C (1922F).

Features

Reverse-rotation volute at 1.01 A/R
T3 inlet, V-band outlet
Free float for external wastegates

Specifications

Garrett part number: 740902-0117
A/R: 1.01
Turbine inlet and outlet: T3 and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Rotation: Reverse
Material: Stainless steel, rated to 1050C (1922F)

Applications

Garrett lists this G35 Turbine Housing Kit for these reverse-rotation super cores:

Garrett G35-900 Reverse Rotation: 880696-5001S
Garrett G35-990 G-Series II Reverse Rotation: 934126-5001S
Garrett G35-1050 Reverse Rotation: 880696-5002S

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this free-float housing has no internal wastegate
The reverse-rotation G35 super core is sold separately
Reverse rotation only; the standard-rotation 1.01 A/R T3 housing is part 740902-0107
Garrett also offers this reverse T3 housing in 0.83 A/R, part 740902-0116

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
