Which engines suit a pair of 0.83 A/R G35 Turbine Housing Kits?

Twin-turbo V8 engines of roughly 4.0L to 5.5L that want two G35s to deliver strong power without lazy boost onset. Use this reverse G35 Turbine Housing Kit on one bank and the standard 0.83 A/R housing, part 740902-0103, on the other so both turbochargers match.

Is there an internally wastegated reverse G35 housing?

No. Garrett lists its internal wastegate G35 housings, 740902-0110 and 740902-0111, for standard-rotation cores only. All reverse-rotation G35 housings are free float, so a twin G35 build always uses external wastegates for boost control. That also means the manifolds need wastegate flanges on each bank or a shared crossover.

Can I put this housing on a standard G35?

No. The volute is shaped for a turbine wheel spinning in reverse, and Garrett lists the part for reverse-rotation G35 super cores only. A standard G35 takes the standard 0.83 A/R V-band housing, part 740902-0103, which shares the A/R and flanges and goes on the opposite bank of a twin-turbo engine.

How much power can a twin G35 setup make?

Garrett rates each core separately: the G35-900 from 550 to 900 horsepower, the G35-990 from 550 to 990 and the G35-1050 from 700 to 1050. Those ratings come from compressor choke flow and represent potential flywheel horsepower per turbocharger, so the result depends heavily on the engine and the calibration.

Can a single turbo engine use a reverse G35 with this housing?

Yes, when the installation calls for it. Garrett offers single reverse rotation turbochargers for applications with installation restrictions, where a mirrored layout lets the inlet and outlet clear the chassis or engine. If a standard G35 fits, the standard 0.83 A/R housing, part 740902-0103, is the simpler choice.

Description

Garrett G35 Turbine Housing Kit, 0.83 A/R V-Band Free Float Reverse Rotation

Garrett’s G35 Turbine Housing Kit for reverse rotation in 0.83 A/R is the balanced V-band housing for reverse G35 cores, free float in stainless steel. Part 740902-0113 is listed by Garrett for the reverse-rotation G35-900, G35-1050 and G-Series II G35-990. It is the usual starting point for a twin-turbo G35 build on a V8 of around 4.0L to 5.5L, paired with the standard 0.83 A/R housing, part 740902-0103. Builders who want the twin setup to respond sooner on a smaller engine should consider 0.61 A/R, and the internal wastegate option does not exist in reverse.

The Reverse Bank

On a twin G35 engine one turbocharger is standard and one reverse, so that both banks can share mirrored manifolds and intake routing. This housing is the reverse half of a 0.83 A/R pair. Because every reverse G35 housing is free float, each bank needs its own external wastegate or a shared gate fed by a crossover.

Features

Reverse-rotation 0.83 A/R volute
V-band connections at the inlet and outlet
Free-float layout
Stainless steel rated to 1050C (1922F)

Specifications

Garrett part number: 740902-0113
A/R: 0.83
Turbine inlet and outlet: V-band and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Rotation: Reverse
Material: Stainless steel, rated to 1050C (1922F)

Applications

Garrett lists this G35 Turbine Housing Kit for these reverse-rotation super cores:

Garrett G35-900 Reverse Rotation: 880696-5001S
Garrett G35-990 G-Series II Reverse Rotation: 934126-5001S
Garrett G35-1050 Reverse Rotation: 880696-5002S

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this free-float housing has no internal wastegate
The reverse-rotation G35 super core is sold separately
Reverse rotation only; standard G35 cores take part 740902-0103
Garrett offers no internal wastegate G35 housing in reverse rotation

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
