Will the G30 Turbine Housing Kit bolt to my T3 manifold?

Yes, provided the manifold has a standard T3 turbine flange. This G30 Turbine Housing Kit uses a T3 inlet and a V-band outlet, so the downpipe will need a V-band flange even if the old turbocharger used a bolted outlet. Garrett publishes a flange diagram to check dimensions before ordering.

Should I choose 0.83 or 1.01 A/R with a T3 inlet?

Go with 0.83 A/R when response and mid-range torque matter most, typically on a 2.0L to 3.0L engine. The 1.01 A/R gives up some spool for more top-end flow and suits larger engines or builds targeting the high end of the G30-825 and G30-900 ratings.

Does the housing have an internal wastegate?

No. It is a free-float housing, meaning every bit of exhaust passes through the turbine and boost is controlled by an external wastegate on the manifold. Many T3 manifolds already include a wastegate flange. Garrett offers internal wastegate G30 housings only with V-band inlets, in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R.

Can I reuse the external wastegate from my old T3 setup?

Usually, yes, because the wastegate lives on the manifold rather than the turbine housing. Check that the gate is large enough for the new power target, since Garrett rates G30 cores up to 900 horsepower and a gate sized for a smaller turbocharger may not hold boost at high exhaust flow.

Is this housing standard or reverse rotation?

Standard rotation, listed by Garrett for standard-rotation G30 cores only. A reverse-rotation core spins the other way and needs its own housing, so for a mirrored twin-turbo setup on T3 manifolds the matching reverse part is 740902-0100, also 0.83 A/R with a T3 inlet.

Description

Garrett G30 Turbine Housing Kit, 0.83 A/R T3 Free Float

Garrett’s G30 Turbine Housing Kit in 0.83 A/R with a T3 inlet lets a standard-rotation G30 bolt to a conventional T3 exhaust manifold, with a V-band outlet and no internal wastegate. Garrett lists part 740902-0090 for the G30-660, G30-770, G30-900 and the G-Series II G30-725 and G30-825. That makes it the practical route for an owner moving from an older T3-flanged turbocharger who wants G30 performance without a new manifold. The 0.83 A/R favors response on 2.0L to 3.0L engines; anyone after the last of a G30-900 rating on 3.5L should look at the 1.01 A/R.

Keeping the T3 Manifold

T3 is one of the most widely used turbine flanges in the aftermarket, and many existing manifolds already carry it along with an external wastegate flange. This housing pairs that inlet with the V-band outlet and stainless construction Garrett uses across the G-Series, rated to 1050C (1922F), so the downpipe changes but the manifold can stay.

Features

T3 turbine inlet for existing T3 manifolds
V-band outlet to the downpipe
0.83 A/R, the smaller of the two T3 sizes Garrett offers for the G30
Free float, for use with an external wastegate

Specifications

Garrett part number: 740902-0090
A/R: 0.83
Turbine inlet and outlet: T3 and V-band
Wastegate: External (free float)
Rotation: Standard
Material: Stainless steel, rated to 1050C (1922F)

Applications

Garrett lists this G30 Turbine Housing Kit for these standard-rotation super cores, rated from 350 to 900 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines:

Garrett G30-660: 880693-5001S
Garrett G30-725 G-Series II: 934117-5001S
Garrett G30-770: 880693-5002S
Garrett G30-825 G-Series II: 934117-5002S
Garrett G30-900: 880693-5003S

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this free-float housing has no wastegate port
The G30 super core is sold separately
Standard rotation; the reverse-rotation 0.83 A/R T3 housing is part 740902-0100
The same T3 inlet is offered in 1.01 A/R as part 740902-0091

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
