Does the G30-900 G-Series CHRA include housings?

No. It is the center housing rotating assembly only, with the compressor wheel, turbine wheel, shaft and bearing system in the center housing. It needs a G30 compressor housing and a G30 turbine housing. Garrett sells the G30-900 with its compressor housing fitted as a super core, and as complete turbochargers.

How much power can the G30-900 support?

Garrett rates the G30-900 G-Series CHRA at 550 to 900 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines. The rating is calculated from the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the real figure depends on fuel, boost, turbine housing A/R and the calibration.

Is the G30-900 a G-Series II part?

No. The G30-900 belongs to the first-generation G-Series range. The G-Series II G30 options are the G30-725 and G30-825, which use new compressor aerodynamics for up to 10 percent more flow than Gen I at peak pressure ratio. The G30-900 still carries the largest G30 compressor and the highest G30 rating.

Which turbine housing should I run with the G30-900?

Garrett lists standard-rotation G30 turbine kits in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R with V-band inlets, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3 inlets and a 1.06 A/R divided T4. With a compressor this size, the larger A/R options usually suit engines built for high rpm. Check the Garrett flow maps first.

Do I need a speed sensor with this core?

Garrett recommends one. The maximum allowable speed for the G30-900 is 145,000 rpm, and Garrett states that running above it can cause damage and premature failure. The sensor installs in the compressor housing, is sold separately, and lets the tuner keep the shaft inside its map.

Description

Garrett G30-900 G-Series CHRA, 62mm Compressor

Garrett’s G30-900 G-Series CHRA is the center section of the most powerful G30 turbocharger Garrett lists, pairing a 62mm compressor inducer with the 60mm by 55mm G30 turbine. Garrett rates the G30-900 at 550 to 900 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines, and the 550 floor makes the point plainly: this is a core for a built engine with the fuel, cam and rpm to fill a big compressor on a mid-frame turbine. For a street car spending most of its time under 500 horsepower, a G30-725 or G30-825 G-Series II core will make boost sooner. This part number is the first-generation G-Series design.

G-Series Design

Garrett quotes a maximum compressor efficiency of 77 percent for the G30-900 and describes new turbine aerodynamics that give higher flow and efficiency. The turbine wheel is Mar-M alloy rated to 1050C (1922F), the same rating Garrett gives its stainless steel G-Series turbine housings.

Features

62mm compressor inducer and 76mm exducer, trim 65
Mar-M alloy turbine wheel with G-Series turbine aerodynamics, trim 84
Runs in the same G30 turbine kits Garrett lists for the G-Series G30 range

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 62mm and 76mm
Compressor trim: 65
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum turbocharger speed: 145,000 rpm

Applications

The G30-900 G-Series CHRA is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 550 to 900 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett G30 turbine kits: V-band, T3 and divided T4 inlet housings from 0.61 to 1.21 A/R in standard rotation, and V-band and T3 housings in reverse rotation

Notes

The compressor housing and turbine housing are not included; Garrett sells the G30-900 as a standard rotation super core and a reverse rotation super core
Garrett does not list this CHRA part number on its G30-900 pages, so confirm rotation with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering
Garrett states that running above 145,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
