What does the G30-770 Super Core include?

The G30-770 Super Core comes as the center housing rotating assembly with the 0.72 A/R compressor housing fitted, plus the oil restrictor and water fittings Garrett lists for the G30. The turbine housing, any external wastegate the chosen housing needs and the speed sensor kit are separate purchases.

Which housings can I run on the G30-770 Super Core?

Garrett lists standard-rotation G30 kits in three inlet styles. Free-float housings come in 0.61 to 1.21 A/R with a V-band inlet, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R with a T3 inlet, and 1.06 A/R with a divided T4 inlet. For an internally gated setup, Garrett offers 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band internal wastegate housings.

How much horsepower can it make?

Garrett rates this core at 475 to 770 horsepower across 2.0L to 3.5L. The figure is the compressor choke flow expressed as potential flywheel horsepower, so it describes what the compressor can supply, not what every engine will make. Fuel, boost, intercooling and the tune decide where a build ends up.

Is the T3 or V-band inlet housing better?

Neither is better in general; the choice follows the manifold. A T3 housing bolts to the common T3 flange, while a V-band inlet uses a clamped joint. Divided T4 suits twin-scroll manifolds, and Garrett offers it for the standard G30 in 1.06 A/R only.

What speed limit does Garrett set for the G30-770?

Garrett lists 150,000 rpm as the maximum allowable speed and warns that running above it can result in damage and premature failure. The compressor housing has a fully machined speed sensor port, and fitting the Garrett sensor kit lets the tuner log shaft speed and set boost to stay inside the limit.

Description

Garrett G30-770 Super Core, 58mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G30-770 Super Core puts a 58mm compressor wheel on the 60mm G30 turbine in standard rotation, the step between the 54mm G30-660 and the 62mm G30-900. Garrett rates it at 475 to 770 horsepower for 2.0L to 3.5L, which suits a built 2.5L to 3.0L engine with a fuel system ready for 600 to 700 horsepower. If the goal is a quick-spooling 450 horsepower street setup, the G30-660 is the better match; if the goal is well past 770, step up to the G30-900.

Turbine Wheel

The Mar-M alloy turbine wheel has new aerodynamics and is rated to 1050C (1922F); Garrett says it flows about 5 percent more than GTX with a peak efficiency of 74 percent. The V-band connection from center housing to turbine housing can be oriented through 360 degrees with Garrett non-wastegated housings.

Features

58mm compressor inducer and 71mm exducer, 76 percent maximum compressor efficiency
8mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge with twin piston rings
One-piece center housing and backplate
Oil restrictor and water fittings supplied

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 58mm and 71mm
Compressor trim and A/R: 65 trim, 0.72 A/R
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum compressor efficiency: 76 percent
Bearing system: 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing
Maximum turbocharger speed: 150,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G30-770 standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G30-770 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 475 to 770 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: Free float in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R V-band, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3, 1.06 A/R T4 divided; internal wastegate in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G30 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 150,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
