Why choose the 1.01 A/R G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger?

Choose it when the engine is large for the G30-725 or makes its power high in the rev range. The 1.01 A/R housing on this G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger reduces exhaust back pressure at high rpm. It gives up some low-speed response compared with the 0.83 A/R version.

What is the Garrett power rating for the G30-725?

Garrett lists 350 to 725 horsepower for engines from 2.0L to 3.5L. The rating is derived from compressor choke flow and stands for potential flywheel horsepower. A 1.01 A/R build is better placed to approach the top of it than a 0.83 A/R build on the same engine.

How does the G30-725 differ from the G30-825?

Both use the 60mm by 55mm G30 turbine wheel. The G30-725 has a 54mm compressor inducer and the G30-825 a 58mm inducer, so the G30-825 moves more air at the top end, while the smaller G30-725 compressor reaches boost sooner and suits engines targeting less peak power.

Yes. Garrett states that a calibration is required to take advantage of the increased G-Series II compressor flow. Any turbocharger change of this size also alters airflow, fuel demand and boost behavior, so the engine management must be revised before the engine is run hard.

What is the maximum turbine shaft speed?

Garrett lists a maximum allowable turbocharger speed of 160,000 rpm for the G30-725. Above that speed, operation is at the risk of the owner and may cause damage and early failure. A Garrett speed sensor in the compressor housing lets the tuner monitor it.

Description

Garrett G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger, 1.01 A/R V-Band Internal Wastegate

Garrett’s G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger with the 1.01 A/R housing gives the 54mm G30-725 more room to breathe at high rpm, using a V-band internal wastegate turbine housing and an actuator set by Garrett at 0.5 bar. Garrett rates the G30-725 at 350 to 725 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines. The larger housing is the better fit for a 3.0L to 3.5L six, or a smaller engine that revs hard and needs low exhaust back pressure near redline. Where boost has to arrive early on a street engine, the 0.83 A/R version is the safer choice.

Features

1.01 A/R internal wastegate housing, the larger of the two G30-725 turbo options
V-band inlet and outlet joints that can be clocked to suit the installation
Mar-M alloy turbine wheel and stainless steel housing, both rated by Garrett to 1050C (1922F)
Oil restrictor and water fittings supplied

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5455
Compressor inducer and exducer: 54mm and 67mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Turbine housing: 1.01 A/R, V-band inlet and outlet
Wastegate actuator: 0.5 bar
Maximum turbocharger speed: 160,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G30-725 G-Series II turbocharger with 1.01 A/R internal wastegate housing and actuator
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 350 to 725 horsepower (Garrett rating)

Notes

A 0.83 A/R version of this turbo is also available
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
Boost arrives later than with the 0.83 A/R housing, so match the choice to the rev range

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
