Why would I need a reverse rotation G25-700 G-Series II CHRA?

Because twin-turbo engines often mount the turbochargers as mirror images. Running one standard and one reverse rotation unit lets both compressor outlets and turbine inlets face the same way relative to each bank, which keeps intake and exhaust plumbing symmetrical. This reverse G25-700 G-Series II CHRA is the partner to the standard version.

Does the reverse core use different housings?

Yes. Reverse rotation requires reverse-rotation compressor and turbine housings, because the scroll has to follow the direction of the wheel. Garrett lists four reverse G25 turbine kits for this core: 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band housings, each offered with an external wastegate or an internal wastegate.

What power does each reverse G25-700 support?

Garrett rates the G25-700 at 350 to 700 horsepower per turbocharger on 1.4L to 3.0L engines. The rating comes from compressor choke flow and stands for potential flywheel horsepower. A twin setup shares the airflow between two units, and fuel, boost and calibration still decide the final number.

Is there a speed limit for this turbocharger?

Yes. Garrett sets the maximum allowable speed for the G25-700 at 160,000 rpm and states that running beyond it is at the risk of the owner and can cause premature failure. A speed sensor in the compressor housing, sold separately, lets the tuner watch both shafts on a twin-turbo engine.

Should I buy the reverse G25-700 G-Series II CHRA on its own?

Usually not. It is one half of a matched pair, and a twin-turbo engine normally runs one standard and one reverse rotation unit with the same compressor wheel so both banks flow alike. Order it with the standard rotation G25-700 CHRA, or use it to replace a damaged reverse core in an existing pair.

Description

Garrett G25-700 G-Series II CHRA, Reverse Rotation

Garrett’s G25-700 G-Series II CHRA in reverse rotation pairs with a standard-rotation G25-700 on twin-turbo engines, so each bank gets the same 54mm compressor and 700 horsepower rating with plumbing that mirrors side to side. It is the bare center section, with no compressor or turbine housing, built to drop into reverse-rotation G25 housings from either generation. Garrett rates each unit at 350 to 700 horsepower on 1.4L to 3.0L, so two of them suit a twin-turbo engine aimed well past 1,000 horsepower where the owner accepts some loss of low-speed response. A twin-turbo engine targeting moderate power is better served by a pair of G25-585 cores.

Reverse Rotation in G-Series II

Garrett offers reverse rotation across the G-Series II supercore, CHRA and turbocharger range. The core keeps the G-Series II changes: a one-piece center housing and backplate, twin piston rings either side of the shaft, and a Mar-M turbine wheel that Garrett rates to 1050C (1922F).

Features

Reverse rotation for the mirrored side of a twin-turbo installation
54mm compressor inducer with G-Series II aerodynamics
Compatible with Gen I reverse-rotation G25 compressor and turbine housings

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5449
Compressor inducer and exducer: 54mm and 67mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 54mm and 49mm
Maximum turbocharger speed: 160,000 rpm
Rotation: Reverse
Matching super core: 934114-5002S

Applications

The G25-700 G-Series II CHRA is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 1.4L to 3.0L
Power range: 350 to 700 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett G25 turbine kits, reverse rotation: 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band, each with an external or internal wastegate

Notes

Sold without housings; it needs a reverse-rotation compressor housing and a reverse rotation G25 turbine housing kit
The reverse rotation G25-700 super core includes the compressor housing
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
